It is with a heavy heart we announce some sad news from Fieldview Holiday Cottages. Our two resident retired ponies, Prudence and Charlie, have passed away.

We are sure they will be remembered by everyone who encountered their cheeky personalities and joyful zest for life. They never faltered to bring a smile to the faces of many families during their stay with us.

Prudence joined the family near 30 years ago as a dark grey, and for Charlie it was over 14 years ago - both ponies lived well into their old age. For Prudence, her knee was injured and was in palliative care for the last year. For Charlie it was just age, his teeth had deteriorated to the point of needed to be hand-fed mushed pellets. Life for them both was becoming quite a challenge - but they got to see the end of winter and the bright sunshine one last time which is some solace. Along with our vet, we did everything we could for these special family members.

They were our final two ponies after the loss of Blue a couple years prior.

They will be dearly missed in our grounds.
