A beautiful morning on the marshes.

No need to add music to this video. The birds gave us a soundtrack all of their own.

We are so lucky that this is just a few minutes walk from the cottage.

Our most recent guests absolutely made the most of their stay with us visiting Orford for the castle, Southwold, Thorpeness to see the house in the sky, they visited the transport museum in Carlton Colville, they took a cruise trip along the Broads, hired a boat from Beccles and sailed down the river Wavemey. They even made a special trip to Sutton Hoo as they love history ( they did say that unless you really want to go it may be one to miss I have included a picture of it to save you the trouble. It's the mound of grass.)

All of this was dog friendly I have included a picture of their dog just because he is so cute!

We loved to hear they didn't realise how beautiful and special Suffolk is, we couldn't agree more and love to share it with our guests

Such a beautiful day today. Perfect for the Beccles Food and Drink Festival. It was great to see so many people there to sample and buy all the local produce.

There were live cookery demonstrations, music and of course some fabulous local producers.

They even had a punch and Judy show.

Tonight we will be hanging venison and pork and hot honey burgers bought at the festival for our dinner

We love birds and often go to the marshes to see what we can see so we were very excited to hear that a Hoopoe had been spotted in a local park area just up the road from the cottage.

We have not yet seen it but if you are staying at Copse on the Broads in the next few weeks keep your eyes open for it.

It's a bit wet in Oulton Broad today, but we are British we don't let the weather get us down.

Rain on holiday doesn’t have to ruin the fun ☔🐾

Luckily, there are still plenty of cosy, dog-friendly adventures to enjoy around the Suffolk coast and Broads!

🐶 Grab a coffee and warm up at:

• Martello Coffee House
Both are lovely spots to dry off after a breezy beach walk.

🍺 Settle into a dog-friendly pub:
• The Jolly Sailors
• The Commodore
• The Trowel & Hammer

Perfect for lunch while the dogs snooze under the table.

🌿 Surprisingly good rainy-day options:
• Lound Plant Centre
• Cherry Lane Early Dawn
Garden centres are brilliant for a gentle wander with dogs, plus coffee and cake for humans!

🌾 If the rain is only light, we always recommend:
• Carlton & Oulton Marshes
There’s something rather magical about the marshes in misty weather — and muddy paws are very welcome back at the cottage!

We always keep towels by the door ready for soggy paws 🐕💛
