🍰 Can You Help Fill the Refreshment Stall? 🍰

We are looking for donations of homemade cakes, traybakes, brownies and flapjacks for our popular refreshment stall.

Victoria sponge, lemon drizzle, chocolate cake, ginger cake, brownies, fruit cake, tea loaf, carrot cake, flapjacks – all gratefully received! Gluten-free and dairy-free bakes are very welcome too.

Please keep decoration simple, and if your bake contains nuts, please label it accordingly.

Cake donations can be dropped off the night before the derby to Rosemary Thomas at Lower House Farm, Castle Road, or brought to the refreshment stall before 10am on the day.

Every slice sold helps support our fundraising efforts, so thank you for your generosity and baking skills!

I've been a guest at 19 Upper Linney this week. A few vacant nights during this heatwave in between a run of bookings so I thought I would road test the cottage as a giest🤣
Was quite a treat to be there late at night and early in the morning. Hence the photo of few runners that met at the Buttercross at 7am Tuesday morning. So quiet in the evening. The church bells on Monday night sounded wonderful. Walked around parts of town I rarely walk. Gin after🍸😜. Slept well as the cottage was considerably cooler than home🥵♥️
And ...I had never realised the beautiful view I have of the sunset 🌇 at this time of year.

Saturday 6th June, 10.30am – 12.30pm. Farm walk with James Middleton, who farms at Chapel Lawn in the Red Lake Valley.
James is an upland livestock farmer and grows some arable crops. He will share his story covering what he does and how does it (from field to fork), the challenges and opportunities of farming in the Shropshire Hills and how his farming practices benefit the environment and local landscape. A perfect day. England at its best. Quintessential country garden. Roses, irises, peonies in full bloom. Oh and the Hawkstone Farmers Choir won their BGT semifinal last night👏❤️ 🌹
