Due to NIE essential works there will be no electricity supply at Kinnego Marina on Monday 28th September between 9am & 5pm. As a result there will be no toilets available and our telephone lines will be down. If you need to contact us you can do so on 07917543670.

The main gates at Kinnego Marina & Oxford Island will close at 8pm from Tuesday 1st September.

With blue-green algae confirmed at a number of locations at present, we want to remind the public of the dangers.

Where blue-green algae is detected warning signage will be erected to warn visitors of its presence and advise to avoid contact with the algae and the water, due to its harmful effects.

The public are also encouraged to report sightings of blue-green algae by downloading and using the using the Bloomin’ Algae App.

Please respect the throw lines and rescue equipment situated at our rivers, lakes and reservoirs which are essential for saving people who get into trouble in the water.

Theft or vandalism of this water safety equipment is putting lives at risk.

Please leave it alone unless you need to use it for an emergency and you can also share this appeal to help protect these vital rescue tools.

Throughout the summer months and the warmer weather, it’s important that we remind the public of the dangers of blue-green algae to both humans and pets ⚠️ .

Where blue-green algae is detected at council-run sites, warning signage will be erected to warn visitors of its presence and advise that adults, children, and animals should avoid contact with the algae and the water, due to its harmful effects.

Even if there is no signage at a location, should the appearance of a water body concern you, when in doubt, stay out, and do not let pets swim in, play in or drink water that looks discoloured or has scum on the surface.

The public are also encouraged to report sightings of blue-green algae by downloading and using the using the Bloomin’ Algae App.
