Celebrating Great Big Green Week here in the valley! ๐ŸŒ
(Bovey Tracey is celebrating it this week to keep the momentum going!)

Kevin and I have to sort through the waste bins on the campsite regularly to stop them overflowing. Sorting waste properly while you are away builds great habits for back home. As well as being good for the environment keeping landfill bags to a minimum directly keeps our running costs and your pitch fees low! ๐Ÿ’ธ

Check out the photo slides to see what we face:
Slide 2 - 4: Unsorted waste. Inside the messy bags. We found a mix of food waste, paper plates, glass, and plastic all thrown together. The yellow bags are supposed to be reserved for nappies!
The Liquid Law: We even found liquids left inside bottles. The law is exactly the same here as it is at homeโ€”it is COMPLETELY ILLEGAL to send liquids to landfill. Because of this, we have to manually empty and rinse them out before they can be processed.
Slide 5: A crisp packet stuffed in a bottle. Sorting plants can't separate these, so both items get rejected and burned.
Slide 6: Overflowing plastic bottles. Skip the shop-bought plastic! Our on-site Devon Spring water is free, filtered, and UV-treated. Just bring a flask!

QUICK TIPS FOR HERE (AND AT HOME):
Sort at your tent: Separate plastic, glass, and paper from day one so you aren't rushing when you leave.
Empty all liquids: Make sure cans and bottles are totally empty.
Don't stuff bottles: Keep plastic bottles loose and crushed flat.
Keep food waste out: Scrape food and paper plates into the proper bins so it doesn't ruin the clean recycling.
Read the signs: Follow the instructions posted in our bin area.

Two minutes of sorting helps the environment and protects your pocket - and keeps us in a good mood! Thank you for stepping up! ๐Ÿ™Œ

Good News - our website is back but with an old version of the home page. Something to work on when we come back from our short break to Jersey.

๐ŸŽจ The UK's finest craft event is back in Bovey Tracey this weekend! ๐ŸŽจ

The annual Craft Festival returns to Mill Marsh Park from Friday 12th to Sunday 14th June. This year featuring over 200 extraordinary designers, live workshops, local street food, and live music. It is the ultimate weekend to support independent talent right on the edge of Dartmoor.

๐ŸŒž The best part? The Devon weather is looking great for a weekend outdoors!

๐Ÿšฒ Leave the car behind: We are located midway between Lustleigh and Moretonhampstead, less than 5 miles from the festival gates. You can stretch your legs with a beautiful walk or cycle straight there along the scenic Wray Valley Trail, or hop on the local bus on Friday and Saturday!

โ›บ๐Ÿ›๏ธ Last-minute availability: Avoid the busy town centre traffic and enjoy a peaceful night's sleep in the heart of the valley. We still have a few final spaces open in our calm B&B, Eco-Bothies and on our campsite.

๐Ÿ‘‡ To find out more about the event, check out the festival line-up on their website below. Drop us a DM or whatsapp to secure your accommodation before our last pitches and rooms go! wrayvalley.co.uk/booking
