This is where the UK National Park Sustainability Officers ended up last Wednesday! 🌲💧

We love to share the story of what we are building here at Wray Valley, so hosting the UK’s national park officers for a fast-paced morning visit ahead of their conference lunch felt like a massive milestone for us.

With just 90 minutes on the clock, we didn’t waste a second. We kicked things off on the patio with a quick briefing on our history, context, and how we run the B&B sustainably. Then, we headed out into the field: walking our FiPL funded Sustainability trail through ourstunning County Wildlife Site woodland, opening out into the Hay Meadow, and checking out our low-impact tourism setup with our Nearly Wild pitches and Eco Bothies.

The conversations about habitat management and green tourism were so engaging that we completely forgot to take a group photo. But when your "office" looks like this, the landscape does the talking for you!

If you’ve ever wondered how to practically blend biodiversity, habitat management, and low-impact eco-tourism into an older property, we are opening our gates to show you exactly how we do it.

Celebrating 50 Years of Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team - Ashburton ! 🌲🚒

What an incredible evening celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team - Ashburton with a Gala Dinner in the stunning Great Hall at Dartington Trust last Saturday.

As Chair, Kevin was on duty in a whole different way—I don’t think he truly relaxed until after the speeches were finally over! He did a great job, and the entire evening was a testament to five decades of dedication by the team's volunteers.

We were incredibly proud to support the event, with the arrival drinks jointly sponsored by ourselves at Wray Valley and Huxbear Vineyard . It was fantastic to showcase some brilliant Devon w**e to kick off the celebrations and toast to such a wonderful cause! 🥂✨

Kevin had the pleasure of hosting the Lord-Lieutenant and the Mayor of Ashburton at our table for the evening. It was wonderful to see such strong support for the team from our local community leaders.

The food was absolutely delicious, the atmosphere was brilliant, and it looked like everyone had a fantastic time celebrating this massive milestone.
