Old Lyme Guest House will be opening on July 4th as per Government guidelines.
We are currently updating our website, but bookings are already beginning to come in for July 2020 and onwards. We have even taken some for 2021!

Naturally we will be following government guidelines to ensure the safety of all our guests.
There will be a few changes around the normal breakfast routine, but everything will be explained when you arrive.

We want you to enjoy your stay with us, without worrying too much whilst you are here. We will be doing everything possible to keep disruption to a minimum.

So, if you are looking to get away for the first time, look no further than Lyme Regis and our beautiful seventeenth century Guest House, right in the centre of the Old Town and within a 2 min Level walk to practically all the shops, but more importantly,the Beach and seafront.

Greetings for the new season, new year and new decade!
We are happy to be open for 2020 and look forward to warmly welcoming our guests to the ‘Old Lyme Guest House’ our beautiful 17th Century Bed and Breakfast, located right in the centre of the ‘Old Town’ of Lyme Regis, on the Jurassic Coast.

Since we were last open for business, we have seen the opening of new restaurants and bars, all located on our doorstep. This includes the refurbishment of The Ship Inn, just across the road from us in Coombe St.
The ‘Millside Restaurant’ has also seen new ownership and a new Menu to sample.
The ‘Rockpoint Inn’ has also seen major refurbishments by St Austell Brewery and is due to open around Easter. Expectations are high, especially as they have magnificent views from their sea front terrace.

We ourselves continue to serve our delicious breakfasts, all sourced from local providers.
Our rooms continue to be updated and refurbished to the highest standards, unique in design and colour and all in keeping with the buildings heritage and location.
We strive to ensure that your stay with us will be ‘special’ and we are told quite often by our guests that staying at Old Lyme is like being ‘ home from home’. Quite possibly why so many return to us year upon year.

We are extremely proud of what our guests say about us in their reviews and we are careful to take note and respond to individual comments.

Our location is without doubt ‘Prime’ in Lyme Regis as there are no hills or steps to climb on your way to the seafront, which is a few minutes walk from the house. To all our guests who stayed with us this year, we would both like to say a huge ‘Thank you for visiting Lyme and staying with us.

It has been a very busy season, which interestingly also included a large percentage of overseas visitors.

It was also lovely for us to see our regular guests, which makes it seem like family returning. We greatly appreciate that.

Next week, we see the re opening of the near by Ship Inn, which has undergone extensive refurbishment. We also have the opening of The Waterside Cafe ( formerly the hat shop).
Our guests can also look forward to a new ‘watering hole’ as the new Rock Point has been transformed by St Austell brewery and is due to open in early 2020.

So it only remains for us to say to you all, have a magnificent Xmas and Wonderful New Year and we look forward to seeing many of you again when we re open mid February 2020.

On Friday 15th February we will be opening our doors once again. We hope we will see many of our repeat guests again, plus many new faces from around the uk and overseas.
If you have never stayed with us or been to Lyme Regis itself, you are missing out on a wealth of History and charm.

We are situated in the heart of the ‘Old town’ surrounded by shops, cafes, bars, galleries and restaurants. Our location is a huge attraction, as we are only a few minutes level walk from the seafront, which when you speak to our guests and many of the locals, make Old Lyme’s position in the town, quite possibly the best!

When you come and stay with us, we will do our upmost to ensure you have a memorable one. You will enjoy a hearty breakfast, sourced from local award winning produce and enjoy the comfort of our beautiful 17th Century, Grade 2 Listed building. You will also receive FREE parking during your stay.

The allure and charm plus the mystique of Lyme will leave you wanting to return time and time again. Which is probably why so many do! It’s a magical place.

There have been many new cafes, bars and restaurants opened up in 2018 and during 2019, there are more refurbishments and constructions underway. Lyme is an evolving town, but never one to succumb to the modern day High St. The majority of shops in Lyme are unique and run by local business owners. Another reason why Lyme Regis is so popular all year round.

With Guy Fawkes and the Fireworks now we’ll and truly over, the crowds seem to have also disappeared. Lyme Regis is beautiful whatever time of year and at the moment we are still enjoying a superb mild climate, still in double figures!
For the rest of the November we have decided to remain open and invite you to come and stay with us for 3 nights, paying HALF price for the 3rd night!!
