The Sporting Lyme Festival 2026 is officially underway, and we’ve got an exciting month full of opportunities to explore, try and get inspired.

16 May
Lyme Regis Gig Club
Gig Club Masters Regatta
Harbour/Cobb
9:30am – 4:30pm
A day of Gig racing with crews coming from all over the South and Southwest of England. The Masters are 60 yrs old + so come down and watch the experts race each other at Monmouth beach.

Charmouth Tennis Club
Free Taster Sessions

Lyme Regis Bowling Club has its next Open Day on Saturday 23rd May, 10am until 3pm, as well as free taster sessions on Saturday mornings throughout the summer. So why not come down and try something new!
Lyme Regis Bowling Club are also offering FREE Saturday morning taster sessions from May until the end of August. From 10am-12pm at the Bowls Club.

Lyme Regis Sea School Open Day

9am, 10am & 1:30pm
Cost £5.00 per session.
You’ll be out on the water for a morning and afternoon sail and cook up a big barbecue for everyone to enjoy at lunchtime! We’ll make sure you have a great time and get out on the water in the way that best suits you!
Please bring warm clothing, including a wetsuit if you have it. It can be very chilly on the water! This event is for all sailors. Parents, guardians and non-sailing siblings are very welcome to sit in the clubhouse and have some barbecue food as well! We will open the clubhouse early for parents to drop off from 9am with the opportunity for breakfast, and the building will be open until 4:45pm for pickup.
Key Information
Timings: 10:30am – 1pm (morning sail); 1pm – 2:30pm (barbecue); 2:30pm to 4pm (afternoon sail).
Dates: 28th & 29th of May 2026
Suitable for: All sailors of any ability.
Taught by: All LRSS Instructors
Included: Tuition, personal buoyancy, teas/coffees
Not included: Wetsuits or personal clothing

Between 5:00pm & 7:00pm
A range of dinghies and larger cruisers with willing and able experienced sailors to take you for a quick spin around the bay (30 – 45mins). There is no charge for this, but you will need to book in advance, either on the Wednesday 27th, or by e-mail to : [email protected]
