Within a few minutes walk is a traditional microbrewery, Lyme's best fish & chip shop, the Town Mill artisan shops and art gallery, the Bakery, several cafes, two museums, a gelateria, and the Marine Theatre. Lyme Regis' wide range of independent shops, cinema, pubs and beach bars, Mark Hix' Oyster House and the world famous Cobb Harbour are all close by. From water sports and sailing, to walks and fossil hunting along the Jurassic Coast, Lyme is an all year round destination, with week long festivals and annual events across every season.

Excellent host, good clear communication and excellent recommendations and local knowledge. Would highly recommend to any one and look forward to stay again in the future.“

It’s soon to be that special time of year when twinkles that little bit more. 🎄✨

Whether you’re local or visiting, join us on Saturday 25th November 2023 as Lyme Regis begins the countdown to Christmas with an illuminated Carnival, lantern parade and switch on of the town’s Christmas lights! ✨🎄

The Christmas light switch on in never fails to draw a crowd! Be one of the onlookers soaking up this magical seasonal atmosphere. Watch with family and friends, mulled wines in hand, beanies on, tucked up in your scarves and coats. The cherry on top? Santa 🎅will be arriving on his sleigh to switch on the lights!

THE DAY… 🎄✨

2:30PM: Christmas lantern making workshop at Pine Hall, Lyme Regis Baptist Church.
This is a free event and is great fun for kids and all the family!

Prizes will be awarded for the best lanterns in each age category with judging taking place at 4.30pm.

5PM:
The lantern parade will make its way down Broad Street with an illuminated Carnival from around 5pm.
Make sure to be there to watch the parade, with performances from Santa, Lyme Regis Majorettes, accompanied by our town Major: Alan Vian.
The parade will eventually reach the iconic Christmas tree next to Bell Cliff where the lights will be switched on. 🎄✨🧑‍🎄

The lights will continue to sparkle until the first week of January, taking the town into the 2024 New Year! ✨
