🍂 Autumn is on the way in the New Forest! 💜🐴

A lovely walk around Horseshoe Bottom today, enjoying the beautiful New Forest scenery. So many ponies were out making the most of the mild weather, and it was wonderful to see the blanket of heather slowly forming, bringing those gorgeous rich shades of purple across the landscape. 🌿💜

There’s something so special about this time of year in the Forest — the first hints of autumn are beginning to appear, but there’s still plenty of summer warmth to enjoy. 🍂

If you fancy escaping to the New Forest, Acorn Lodge at Shorefield Country Park makes the perfect base. Just a 10-minute walk to the beach, with beautiful walks right on the doorstep and plenty of places to explore with your four-legged friends. 🐾❤️

🌞🏊‍♀️ GREAT NEWS FOR ACORN LODGE GUESTS! 🏊‍♂️🌞

We’ve got some lovely news for anyone staying at Acorn Lodge, Shorefield Country Park! 🌿🐿️

Thanks to the fantastic late-summer weather and the continued demand, the heated outdoor swimming pool is staying open for an extra week! 🎉

It was originally due to close at the end of August, but you can now enjoy a dip right through to Sunday 6th September 2026 at 6pm. 🏊‍♀️☀️

⏰ Outdoor pool opening times:
🌊 Daily: 10am–6pm (weather permitting)
👙 Adults-only swim: 10am–11am

So if you’re staying at Acorn Lodge over the next couple of weeks, there’s even more time to enjoy the sunshine, relax by the pool and make the most of everything Shorefield Country Park and the New Forest have to offer. 🌳🐕💚

And remember, leisure passes are included with your Acorn Lodge stay, giving you access to the fantastic park facilities.

I couldn't resist sharing this photo of three beautiful, playful New Forest foals we spotted yesterday! 🐴💚

Moments like these are what make a visit to the New Forest so special. Seeing the free-roaming ponies and their foals in their natural environment is something you'll never forget.

If you're visiting, please help protect these wonderful animals by following the New Forest Code. Drive carefully, stay alert, and remember the 40 mph speed limit (or lower where signed). A few extra minutes on your journey can make all the difference.

One of the many things that makes the New Forest so special is that it's not just the famous ponies you'll come across. 🐴❤️

It's always a pleasure to see the donkeys, pigs, cows and ponies roaming freely through the forest, just as nature intended.

On our latest walk we came across this lovely group of cows enjoying a drink before helping themselves to the leaves from the trees – a wonderful reminder that every visit to the New Forest is different.
