Can’t say we are surprised. We are so lucky to live in such a wonderful place and the number of guests who return to stay with us, every year, or multiple times a year is testament to what a great area it is. Keep up the good work everyone 👏👏

This area has long been an aspirational place to live in your later years. Now it's officially the second best coastal destination to retire to in England and Wales, according to a national survey.

The Regional Retirement Index created by David Wilson Homes ranked coastal local authorities on factors considered most important in later years, like life satisfaction, and access to healthcare and green space.

Fylde achieved an overall score of 62.6, with high quality of life, placing it behind only Folkestone and Hythe.

Thanks to everyone for their comments yesterday. It wasn’t the performance or the result that we wanted but it was a great day out and the atmosphere generated by the fans was amazing. A long day though with almost 9 hours driving but glad we did it. Back to work now with the Lytham Trophy to look forward to this week ⛳️

If you stroll just a little further down from the Formal Gardens that we featured yesterday you’ll find the Ornamental Lake Gardens. Here you will discover a beautiful pond with waterfalls and flowers. Just right now you will spot the ducklings and a nesting swan and if you’re lucky (we weren’t this time) you might even spot the resident turtle! If you’ve never seen this part of St Annes then try and include it in your next visit

Everyone knows about our beautiful beach and town centre here in St Annes but how many of you have admired the gardens just off the Prom? The Formal Gardens (sometimes referred to as the Promenade Gardens) are looking particularly colourful at the moment and well worth a look. Whilst photographing these we came across Andy, one of our amazing local volunteers who give up their time to help make St Annes a clean and tidy place to live/visit. Well done and thank you to both the council workers and volunteers for all their hard work and commitment - it is very much appreciated 👏
