We will be offering dates up to our regulars first - this means if you have booked with us for 2026, or have tried to book with us but unable to -

I will be contacting everyone Thursday 18th, 5pm onwards (We are off to the Mid Wales Tourism conference during the day).

I will hold dates for 48 hours to allow everyone to ask their work etc for time off.
If no deposit (50% of stay) is received by the 3rd day, we will be offering the dates out to someone else (this is the same booking procedure that happens now).

A reminder on prices:
We stay the same price all year round:
Main opening seasoning March 31st To October 1st.

Sheep will be by the pitch - March 10th to May 5th due to lambing, after this they can be moved out of sight (our furthest fields are 1 mile away).

£33/n for solo humans (and their pets plus upto 2 children 4 and under)
£35/n Inc. 2 people (adults or adult and child over 5)
These prices include the thing you sleep (tent/camper/MH/rooftent etc), plus awning and/or gazebo. Max 2 vehicles equivalent ie Your MH / Camper plus a car or 2 motorbikes to travel in locally.

Additional people 5 years and older £10/p/n
Additional tents/campers/roofbox / car camping £35/n.

Fencing will be upgraded to 6ft high dog wire over winter of 2026.

We will take bookings between Jan and march but at a lot lower capacity, so the ground doesn’t get too mucky.

We are looking to upgrade / replace the 4ft high fence (and repost other parts of it) this winter.

Do we go 5ft or 6ft wire? (This may depend on if we can get bigger posts into the ground, as the bedrock isn’t that far down).
The 4ft wire runs for 52m the length of the pitch.
To note the double gates are 4ft high flush to the ground (swing inwards as the ground slopes away), we can put on some additional wire on to gain extra height.
Each gate is 8ft wide and have two of them.

To note we don’t have any other pitches near by, so little chance of seeing any close by dogs or walkers. The only place there is a very small chance and we have put up privacy mesh.

Let me know what you’d all prefer.

We already have 6ft 4 in one part of it, and 5ft by the hawthorn bushes/trees (a good deterrent for dogs who may want to jump it).

The 4ft is on the field side / Mountain View side.

What we will be offering in 2027 (We will let you know release dates by the end of the weekend).

Main season March 31st to October 1st (slightly shorter season, it maybe extended to October 31st) We will accept bookings outside of these dates, but at reduced capacity.

A reminder of our single pitch:
Only 1 pitch surrounded by a 3 acre field, so no other campers in front, and trees and bushes behind you.
It’s great for Autistic families, reactive dog families and generally those who like peace, quiet, and being away from others. XL and other certified exempt breeds welcomed.

The pitch is enclosed with 4ft high fencing down the long side, 5ft at the back by the tap and trees and 6ft on the barn side used in winter until April by cattle. (fencing will be replaced with 5ft high+, over winter 2026 (will get feedback first)).

The pitch is 52m long by 17.5m at the widest, and 5.5m where you drive in. Lollipop shape.

No EHU (Electric Hook Up) on the pitch.
No CDP (Chemical Disposal Point) anywhere.

Private facilities a short walk away outside of the pitch with an electric shower (hot or cool you choose), flushing loo, Belfast sink with hot water and in the cupboard is your own stack of:
fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster and spare electric socket for device charging

Minimum night stay 1 night in own tent.

Dogs are free - no max numbers for bringing your own gear, if you have 10 dogs, that’s all fine with us. Cats / rabbits / Guinea pigs etc are all welcome and free.
Horses/ponies by arrangement.

Pre-Erected Tent: Bring your own furnishings. - These are put up and back down after a camper goes, so not to “clog” up the pitching area. There are dog number limits in these tents.

Minimum stay 3 nights.

We have a selection of AIR tents:
Eurohike Sendero 4 person - we’d suggest this for solo or couple with a small dog.

Gidleigh 5 person tent - We’d suggest 2 Adults / 2 Kids or 3 Adults 1-2 dogs - or 2 adults and 2-3 dogs or 1 adults - 5 dogs.

TBC a much larger tunnel tent.

Early bird for 1 week only after release dates - £30/n for solo campers / £35/n 2 people.
Then £38/n for everyone.

Pre-pitched tents: Tent only.
Every booking must include 1x over 18 year old. (If you are 16 with a child, do get in touch).

£50/n - Sendero tent includes up to 2x people

£60/n - Gidleigh tent includes up to 2x people

Extra charges:
Bringing additional Tents/Camper/roof box etc £35/n - includes 2 people in the price. (2 people can be adult and child). (We have made the decision for 2027 that pup tents won’t be free of charge).

Additional people past 2:
5 years and over £10/person / night

Pitch prices include:
1 tent Or 1 campervan or 1 MH under 7.2m long or car camping or Rooftent. Max 2 vehicles.

Check in from 3pm and check out by 11am.
We will let you know if you can arrive earlier / or depart later a couple of days before your arrival. This can happen when we don’t have anyone arriving / leaving the same day as you.

Breathable ground sheet for stays 3 days or longer.

The pitch’s capacity:
Up to 2 campervan, 1 can have an awning / a tent OR 3 tents / 2 roof top tents and a family person tent (7.5m x 4m) on the grass - must all be the same booking. We do not have more than one “household” at once on the pitch. We are happy to advise what will fit on the pitch.

Max of 2 vehicles in the pitch (free of charge)
Max 4 people and 2 under 5’s.

We sell firewood: logs, kindling, paper and firelighters in a basket.

We will have an enclosed dog exercise field 1.5 acres, fenced at 6ft 4 high - 30mins/ hourly price TBC. This field isn’t open to the public, only campers and glampers.

let’s talk about the 1.5 acre Dog field (that’s isn’t built yet) as there seems to be a few misconceptions going on, and also how “big” we are.

Firstly, sorry people of Mach, the dog field won’t be open to the public for the foreseeable future. We thought about for a long time, but at present it doesn’t make sense for us to do so.

Secondly, this means we can concentrate on providing the best we can for reactive, no-recall, exempt dogs to our camping and glamping site.

Located 1/2 a mile from our hut, and a touch more from our Dulas pitch (984m away / 0.6miles)

Our site only has 1 shepherd hut - Hafan y mynydd (The Mountain Haven)- sleeping at most 5 people and 8 dogs free of charge. (We have had 2 people and 15 dogs too).

Enclosed within 6ft 4 high fencing, and 1/4 of an acre garden.

And

In a separate field.
1x enclosed pitch that is around 0.2 acres in size / 52m x 17m present fenced at 4ft high.
- Dulas pitch - max people 4 adults and 2 kids and most dogs so far is 12. No max number on dogs and all free of charge.

We don’t have any other pitches.

This means our campers and glampers and us exercising the farm dogs / my pet dog will get exclusive access of the dog field. As in not open to the wider public.

There will be timed slots so we don’t all turn up at once, given there might be a dog who needs their space, and it’s not right next to anywhere.

For 2027 the pitch is open march 31st to October 31st.

Hut all year round.

Hope this helps clears up a few things 😁

And no camping in the dog field next year.

*** Editing - this idea needs more thought, potentially winter only or not at all.. though we will keep looking into other areas to create an off-grid camping / campervan experience or maybe a “pop-up” version opening for a limited time period***

I’ve (Pippa) had an Idea!! 💡

It might actually be a terrible idea, or maybe great, not sure yet… 🫣

So we are due to be putting up a 1.5 acre secure dog field, fenced to 6ft 4 high.
That will be happening this year - it’s for us, and our campers and glampers, and it will incur a small charge for those who use it (we don’t charge for dogs on the pitch or hut, and not everyone brings a dog, so don’t want to up base price).
It’s mainly lined with a good hedge on the outside of the fence, additional hedging or some sort of privacy from sheep (those nosey things 😂) will be added in due course.

To add in - We do already have a ‘secure’ / enclosed camping pitch fenced at minimum 4ft high, that will be staying. It’s 52m / 170ft long x 17m /55ft wide - we aren’t expecting all campers to want to use the field.

Now for my next idea - this wouldn’t happen until early / Late 2028 at the earliest as a few steps to go through to make it happen.. if feedback says it’s a good idea. if it’s not good, it will be a “put on hold” idea. (It be after Phase 2 part is built see hand drawn map).

So let’s say the dog field is ‘open’ until 5pm, then at 6pm camper or roofbox tent - or anyone who is happy on hardstanding / rubber mats, drives in to “air lock” and they can stay the night there with full access to 1.5 acres.
The parking area “air lock entry” on map, will also be fenced at 6ft 4 high too and no else could come in whilst someone was camping by the dog field. (Obvious negative is restricted access for others).

It would be limited to single nights, it would also be very basic with a water tap only, and check out would be by 10am.

Limited to 1 night to give plenty of time for others to use the dog field (10-5pm).

No idea on price - not at that stage yet, as not seen others like this. If you know of other campsites like this please do put a link in (we’d like to stay there too - more for toddler, than the dog).

We have a cancellation due to palliative care in July - if we can re-book these dates we shall be refunding the deposit.
in our Hafan Y mynydd shepherds hut with its 6ft 4 high fencing, wheelchair accessible, and a 1/4 of an acre garden. Plenty of zoomie space.

Oh WOW - We are so unbelievably grateful to every one of you who has booked with us this summer!! 🥳🥳🥳🥳

We have sold our last summer date, meaning we are currently fully booked in Dulas the Enclosed PITCH, 5 miles from Machynlleth, .
From now till the 21st September. 😱😱

We cannot wait to welcome you all to our bit of heaven - with the views, and quiet spaces, and walks from the door where you hardly see a soul. ⛰️🏕️🐕🦮🐶 (we don’t come down to the pitch if you have a people reactive dog - do not worry, we shall see you at the loo instead 😁 outside of the pitch).

We have September 21st onwards to October 31st.

We will be opening 2027 dates in late June - gives us a follow to keep up to date.

Due to last winters weather, the pitch will be “hibernating” between October 31st to March 31st, unless there is a lovely dry weekend, then if someone would like to book it will be open.

We do have availability for November 5th and New Years for those who don’t like fireworks, as we haven’t heard any in over 40 years - all winter dates are direct bookings only.

We do have 2 cancellations in the shepherds hut which we will post about later.

🗺️ additional information on us:

We are located in North Mid Wales, 5 miles into the hills from Machynlleth.
We are a working farm, but we can move sheep away between May 5th and late Feb.
Our furthest fields from the pitch is around 1.5 miles away. We own 450 acres of private farm land.

Prices for this year 2026 are £35/n this includes what your sleeping in, 2 people, awning, gazebo (need sand bags), and as many dogs as you can fit in your car (no max number).
We do allow children, and we welcome those on the spectrum- we have personal experience of Autism & ADHD.
Facilities outside of the pitch a short walk away:
Electric shower, flushing loo, Belfast sink with hot water, and in the cupboard is a fridge freezer, microwave, toaster and spare electric socket. 🚿🚽🧻
We do also sell our own eggs, bacon, sausages and sometimes we have beef and lamb/hogget and mutton in.

We are in the process (waiting on fencing contractors) of setting up a 1.5 acre secure dog field fenced at 6ft 4 high and flush to the ground same fencing as our hut has. We will be adding a rabbit small wire fencing 2ft up and 2ft out on the floor to deter diggers, and rabbits. There will be a small charge for the use of the field. However there are plenty of walks from the door / pitch to the river, field, forest and woods.
20-25 mins drive to 2 dog friendly sandy beaches.
10 mins drive to shops, supermarkets, cafe and pubs - some dog friendly.
