A little about the hut:
✅ All by itself,
✅ No close neighbours,
✅ Dogs allowed on bedding and furniture (blankets for chairs).
✅ sleeps up-to 4 plus a child. 2 of which are hidden in the wall, in the sensory pods, which means if it’s only 1-3 people the hut doesn’t feel too big.
✅ Wheelchair / pram accessible throughout, roll in shower, lowered sink, optional wash & dry toilet, adjustable worktop with 2 ring induction hob and sink.
✅ Very comfy 2x rise and recliner chairs with stunning Mountain View’s and looking out over the garden in its elevated position.

1/4 acre of grassy garden with a steep bank and sensory stimulation vegetation (docks etc), fenced at 6ft 4 high which goes all around the hut.

✅ Double fenced, so no one can get close, plus a mature hedge that runs all along the back between the double fence.

✅ We can move sheep upto a mile away as we own 450 acres around the hut, so can pretty much guarantee no sheep if required.

✅ NEW: Enclosed dog / family friendly field on site - 1/2 a mile away and out of view is our 1.8 acre field fenced to 6ft 4 high.
Charging will apply from end September- £5 for 30 mins and £10 for an hour for campers and glampers.

✅ Love fighter jets? We are on one of the Mach loop routes.

Accessibility for parking / to from the hut:

There is a 6ft 3 & 6ft 5 gate front and back respectively, that then leads on to your private drive way fenced at 4ft high- plenty of space for up-to 3 cars or large DPD(Mercedes sprinter) style vans.
Gentle Ramped access from the driveway to the hut, which is made from compacted rolled stone (no gravel).

Cooking facilities:
2 ring induction hob, 2L mini air fryer, Slow cooker, Microwave oven, Toaster (and a hand blender).

❌ Things we don’t have / noises to be aware of:

We are on a mountain spring, so do not have copious amounts of water, we do though have the best tasting water (as no chemicals).

❌ No on site entertainment - other than lots of walks, watching the birds of prey, and at certain times on the year you can come see the cattle and lambs being born.

❌ We are a farm so tractors, and animals sounds may be heard.
Whilst we do own livestock, we can move sheep upto a mile away as we own 450 acres around the hut. The area is sheep and cattle country

❌ We do occasionally get fighter jets coming over.

Enclosed Dog field 1/2 a mile down our hill. Fenced at 6ft 4 high, 1.8 acres. Currently free of charge as still adding final touches.
Will be £5 for 30 mins or £10 for 1 hour.

This is our only availability in peak season - we do take a couple of winter bookings, but the pitch quality comes first - as predominantly grass.

2027 season - Easter to September 30th - Almost fully booked.

Don’t need to have all the dates, minimum stay 1 night.
£35/n based on 2 and what you sleep in plus awning / gazebo.
No max number on dogs / pets and all free of charge.

Children under 5 are free, and those above / adults are £10/p/n extra.
Max people - 4 (3x over 5 years old , 1 must be 17+) and 2 under 5’a. (6 people total).

🐑There will be sheep next to the pitch for these dates, so dogs must be ok with them.. barking is fine, they aren’t bothered, but if your dogs are scared or causes them anxiety, next week isn’t for you. 🐑

Dulas Glamping & , , has now joined CAMPAGLAM.COM 🤩

We are a small site with 1x double shepherds hut designed for independent wheelchair users and their reactive dogs. It can sleep 4. Mountain View’s and is set in a 1/4 acre garden enclosed within 6ft 4 high fencing. Prices from £85 – £155/n based on 3.

We also have a single camping pitch in a separate field, fenced at 4ft high (going up to 6ft for 2027). Private shower, flushing loo. The Pitch is 52m x 17.5m at widest and 5.5m at narrowest. Price: from £38/n. Very Dog friendly. Half a mile away is our 1.8 acre dog field fenced to 6ft 4 high.

Here we go again - Pippa has had another idea - brace yourselves 🤣🤣🤣 I do though need your feedback.

To note we aren’t new to reactive dogs, any pitches that aren’t solid fence will have some deterrent between - and I’d be looking at creating a way to cause minimum disturbance.
Maybe even having a pitch that was enclosed at 4ft high, but didn’t allow dogs, between two other pitches that had dogs in. (What’s your thoughts?)

What is everyone’s thoughts on a multi-pitch campsite - it would be over half a mile from the current pitch/hut, and out of sight of the dog field.

No fields have been chosen - this is just a pie in the sky idea, but not as bad as pigs might fly idea.

I’m not talking big - like 3-5 pitches max depending on space and where it could go etc - lots of research to do yet, and it wouldn’t happen quick (the dog field took 3 years of research & pondering).

I just need to know if there is people wanting this, so I can add it to my business plan, or write it off now (I don’t think that’s the case - give the post a like if you agree, but don’t want to comment).

I’m thinking of trying to find a place where at least 1 pitch could be a touring caravan - this takes more planning.. it might not be possible, but will try.

Each pitch though will be enclosed - I was thinking of having a variety of styles - solid wood, 6ft wire fencing, and maybe something a bit more robust enclosed - like with an overhang, but the pitch itself would need to be big enough to not feel like prison - something like a 25m x 20m

A few photos of where we went camping these past 6 nights.

We did 3 in the moody meadows/ bargoed farm, llwyncelyn.

And 3 nights in The woodlands caravan and campsite in Devils bridge.

Both quite big - but woodlands has created a very relaxed space where campers, touring and Campervans go. My grass pitch did have a slight slope, so had to turn my chair sideways so I didn’t feel like I was going to fall out, and I slightly deflated my kingsize double depth airbed, so I could sink in the middle.

This has a much better designed wetroom than moody meadows. They have a shower curtain, and chairs on the outside, as well as in. My friend with her kids went with me and they neee to use the disabled wetroom, so got to have a peek in there.

The standard toilets - no photos, but very clean and they had a cubicle at the end with a second toilet seat to put down for young children need a smaller seat / potty training size.
Gryff did try it out, and he didn’t ask to get down immediately so I guess he felt safe and secure. I never needed to queue for the loo.
Showers, built so you don’t need a curtain and nothing gets wet. There is a changing bench, and then walk in and around the end of bench (but wall in the way), and that’s where you shower. They have best toilet and washing facilities of the year 2024 awards.

There is a nice cafe and lots of walks and a few parks. There is a large selection of ornaments to look at with the kids around the place, from huge ship anchors to old farm machinery and a few things inbetween.

Dogs are allowed - 2 per pitch, I saw a German shepherd, Doberman, greyhound, labs, daschunds, and other small dogs that I wasn’t close enough to see. So they seemed to allow a variety.
No enclosed pitches, I did ask if they would put any in, but I have a feeling they won’t due to a past experience of a dog jumping over a decking area on a static to bite another dog - the downside of an irresponsible owner / owner being unaware of how high the dog can jump and not taking precautions.

It’s those sorts of situations that put these larger campsites off enclosed pitches - the business thought is: will it attracted more aggressive type dogs / less responsible owners who won’t control their dogs properly, and if they have past experience to back these thoughts up, you can see why they might not want to put one in. If one has a business model that is working, why risk reputation due to 1 particular possible incident.

We haven’t ever had a problem with our 4ft high fences - owners know their dogs and if they would jump it, they haven’t booked.

We have been so very lucky to not have any irresponsible dog owners (in terms of jumping out of the pitch) in the past 7 years. I’m not saying the campers who have stayed your dogs wouldn’t jump out - I know we have had a few escape artists being kept on long lines.
This just shows how responsible you have all been 💛💛

Anyway back to Woodlands, I would throughly recommend it as a family and non-reactive dog friendly place.

We did also go on the punch bowl walk down in devils bridge Gryff my 2 year old did all 86 steps, had a very good nap afterwards 😁😁

I’ll tell you a bit about the pitch and then a bit about the hut.

🏕️Dulas Pitch:
1 very large pitch all to yourself / family / family and friends.
Max number of people: 4 adults, & 2 under 5 year olds.
Dogs are free - no limit on number, next April we have 16 coming!

Pitch size:
52m x 17.5m at the widest and 5.5m at the narrowest. No gaps under the gate.
Private facilities short walk from your pitch - flushing loo, hot shower, Belfast sink with hot water and in the cupboard is a fridge freezer, microwave, toaster and spare electric socket.

❌ No EHU,
🚰 Water tap on the pitch and 🔥 a fire pit.

Minimum fence height is 4ft, but for 2027 it will be going up to 6ft high all round.

Prices are same all year round:
£35/n this year - next availability date is:
1st november

£38/n in 2027 - very limited availability.
Inc up to 2 people, all your dogs, thing you sleep in: campervan/conversion/car camping / roof tent / roof tent on trailer / tent / motorhome less than 7.2m long plus awning or gazebo.

Designed for reactive dogs and wheelchair users (and both at the same time).
Our hut is made from 2x 10ft wide shepherd huts stuck together - big and spacious inside perfect for 1-3 people and their dogs / cats.

We accept up to 8 dogs free of charge and after this there is a cleaning charge for first time guests only.

Stunning views, 1/4 acre of grassy garden direct access from the hut, and fenced all the way round at 6ft 4 high and flush to the ground.
Access gate back and front also at 6ft plus high, goes on to your private driveway fenced at 4ft high with small squared wire and wooden gate also fenced with even smaller wire weld mesh.
There is a tiny tea cup chihuahua sized gap under the gate - due to water ingress.

> Family can stay on the driveway in a camper as long as ok sharing the hut facilities.

We are a farm, but with 450 acres surrounding you, we can move our sheep away from the pitch up-to 1.5 miles away (only months we can’t is Mid March to May 3-5th ish due to lambing).
We do have pigs and chickens, campers and glamping can be involved in feeding / stroking of them - please let us know at booking. Bottlefeeding and lamb cuddle sessions available at lambing time too.
We are not open to the public, our insurance only covers campers and glampers staying with us.

🐾All dog breeds accepted inc. XL, all dogs and other small pets are free too (we don’t allow poultry, parrots / budgies are fine).

As our Camping site is only a single pitch we have a lot of reactive dogs and those who like the quiet (Hidden disabilities such as autism) who like to come.
The hut we have many repeat guests who use a power wheelchair, and those with no disabilities but like the quite and space for their dogs.

We will soon be opening our secure dog field over 1/2 a mile away from the camping and glamping:
1.8 acres fenced at 6ft 4 high with an over hang, and small wire on the ground to deter diggers.
This is charged at £5 for 30 mins or £10 for an hour flat price.
There is a charge as we didn’t want to add on to our pitch or hut price.

There are lots of free walks from the pitch to woodland, fields, and rivers.

We are on 2x mountain bike trails too (a short walk away around 80m beyond the toilet / shower facilities for the pitch, and up a stone ramp for the hut).
25 mins drive from 2x dog friendly sandy beaches: Aberdyfi and Ynyslas.
15-30mins: from a variety of public access forests - Dyfi and Hafren (both have very quiet areas).
