"The house was well equipped with all the facilities we needed for my Dad's complex needs. Vicky and Keeley could not do enough for us. We forgot flannels, and they travelled to bring us some. We had a BBQ on the first night in the garden, which is a lovely sun trap. Overall, our stay was comfortable and a home away from home. Recommended – 5 stars."

The wet room at Restwell is designed with guests’ needs in mind.

CareSpaces designed our wet room, featuring a swing basin with a 180° articulating arm and hand-crank height adjustment. The Geberit toilet also features an automated bidet and dryer, a personal remote, and a touch-free flush, keeping everything within easy reach.

Comfort, confidence, and thoughtful design are reflected in every detail. A mobile postural chair provides reliable support, whether you’re showering or using the toilet. High-contrast levers are easy to spot, and the Mira Select mixer helps prevent scalding.

With level roll-in access, non-slip flooring, and grab rails exactly where they’re needed, every feature is designed to make daily routines safer, easier, and more comfortable.

We got the keys in early March, and as of this weekend, Restwell Retreats is officially open.

The last four weeks have been exhausting, fast-paced, but easily the most rewarding thing we've ever done. We wanted to create a step-free holiday home in Whitstable where people with disabilities and their carers could enjoy a real holiday.

To do this, we’ve built the bungalow with accessibility at its core, from the wet room’s height-adjustable sink, to the bedroom’s ceiling track hoist, and the added sparkle of optional support during the stay provided by Continuity of Care Services ✨

We are eternally grateful to Thor Carpentry, Wealden Rehab, and CareSpaces, who understood our vision from day one and worked incredibly hard to help us bring it to life. We couldn't have done it without you!💙
