As the dust slowly settles and we wave goodbye to another shooting season I would just like to thank the army of people who have helped get me through what has been a very busy season. Firstly, a massive thank you to our keepering team of Connor Fruish aided by Freddy Pettifer for all there hard work and dedication who have worked tirelessly to produce quality days all throughout the season. To our Stalkers & Ghillies who have done an incredible job on Rum this past season guiding our guests and creating memories (good and bad - Helicopter rescue!!) that will last a life time. To Bruce Boyd our Chef who has created mouth watering meals using our fabulous larder of local produce. From producing thousands of partridge pies to crafting stunning dishes, working silly hours to get the job done and always with a smile on his face. To Pam H A Boyd who with the help of Zoe Moffatt have cleaned the house from top to bottom many times over, sometimes under very tight schedules as new groups arrive hours after others have left. To David Barnden who helped me prepare for the season and who cooked for our stalking guests and first lot of shooting guests. To the army of Beaters who helped us in some challenging weather and who turn up day after day and walked many 100’s of miles with flags in hand to channel the birds over the guns. To Arisaig Marine who have transferred all of our guest safely over the past 5 months sometimes in a little less than ideal conditions. To Jenny MacEwen for baking loaf after loaf of fantastic bread to keep hunger from the door for all of our guests and staff alike. To Colin MacEwen who has ferried many a guest over to Rum for us early in the season and hauled dozens of stags off the coast line of Rum. For his patience when sometimes we are not always back when we say we would be! To Alison Simpson who is incredibly supportive and doesn’t see a lot of me between August and February. Who pulls a lot of the behind the scenes thing together, running around like mad to pick up and collect things throughout the season and rolling her sleeves up in the Lodge when she’s over. Lastly and by no means least to all all of our guests and friends who have shot and stalked with us over the past season. We couldn’t do this without you. We all love what we do at Gallanach Lodge and this wouldn’t be possible without your continued support. We hope that you have enjoyed your days with us over the past season and we look forward to welcoming you all back again next year.
Thank you to all of you.
