To Our Dear Locals and The Wider Community of The Horse & Groom.
Jon and Phil have an important announcement to make:
"As of today The Horse & Groom is under new ownership"
On the 18th February, Jon and Phil brought The Freehold of The Horse and Groom back from Butcombe Brewery.
Since the 18th Feb, We have literally put our life on hold, and put our life and soul into the pub, bringing this beautiful pub back to life, and back to its former glory.
We would like to thank everyone of our locals and customers for the support you have given to us and the pub, thank you! Also to our amazing team who have been a massive support and rock for us whilst building up the business to what it is today.
Behind The Horse & Groom Jon and Phil operate a very busy national manufacturing company, which our efforts must continue with.
Knowing how busy Jon and Phil are, we were recently approached to consider selling The Horse & Groom to a local good friend called "Mr Carl Goodman".
All The Locals will know Carl.
Carl Adores The Horse & Groom, and is very much looking forward to taking The Horse & Groom forward.
(Continuing Free of Tie, and Freehold and to be run in the same style as it is now).
Never would Jon and Phil sell The Horse and Groom to any Pub Company, and would only allow this beautiful pub to be run and operated by a local "individual" as good as Carl.
Carl has been Great Friends with Jon and Phil for almost 20 years, and we are so proud that Carl and his team can take this beautiful Pub from Strength to Strength.
Carl has pointed "ALDO VATO" as his General Manager who again has been in the industry for numerous years working alongside Carl.
Carl, and Aldo have absolutely no intention in changing anything at The Horse & Groom, but will definitely take this Great Pub and Business forward.
Jon and Phil have supported Carl and Aldo with this takeover, and will continue to support them both for the foreseeable future.
All Jon and Phil can say is:
"We are So Proud to have given The Horse & Groom back to The Local Community, offering Local Ales, and Good Home Cooked Classics". This will not change at all under Carl and Aldo's leadership.
Jon and Phil will now be customers, and will again at last will enjoy The Horse and Groom with The Local Community.
Finally, as per our very first statement, Jon and Phil would like to say a Massive Thank you to The Locals, (Who are, and have become such Good Local Friends) and also The Wider Community, as well as our loyal staff.
We can assure you nothing will change, Prices, Bands, The Wurzels, Quiz Nights, and a Great Crack - nothing will change.
The Horse and Groom will remain The Local Community Hub, The Heart of The Community, The Heart Beat of Charlton !!!!!!
