We are very pleased to announce the reopening of the Carden Arms this April 2021. We cut no corners in finding and cooking the freshest local produce, alongside mouthwatering meat from our very own herd of traditional pedigree Hereford cows. We have introduced a great new wine list and the cellar is stocked with some great beers from old favourites to new ones. Food is served during the following times:
Monday - Currently closed
Tuesday to Saturday - 12.00 to 21.00 (Drinks til 11pm)
Sunday - 12.00 to 20.00 (Drinks til 10.30pm)

Please note we are following the latest, ever-changing COVID government guidance. We ask that you only visit under current guidelines and please do not be offended as we try to navigate the new normal and bring the Carden Arms back to the community. We hope to see you very soon!!

Proper pub dish this. Always struggle with chicken because well it’s chicken but it improves if you cook it on the bone. We brine the chickens for 24hrs with lemon and garlic then cook them in a waterbath for 5 hours to try and help maintain the moisture and flavour. Finished in a hot oven with a harissa and honey glaze with a few secret bits in it. We sell a lot of these!!

Nine years running. We’ll raise a glass to that 🍺

We’re incredibly proud to share that Carden Arms has been included in the CAMRA Good B**r Guide 2027 — making this our ninth consecutive year in the guide.

What makes this recognition particularly special to us is that inclusion in the Good B**r Guide is independently selected. It isn’t a case of paying to appear — pubs earn their place through the quality of the b**r they serve.

To be recognised once is something to be proud of. To earn a place nine years in a row means an enormous amount to us and to everyone who works hard to keep a great pint at the heart of Carden Arms.

Of course, the best way to see what all the fuss is about is to come and enjoy one for yourself.

Here’s to nine years — and to many more proper pints at the bar 🍻

What a brilliant night. 🍺

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our Meet the Brewer evening with Peerless Brewing Company last night.

It was fantastic to see such a packed room, plenty of great conversation and, of course, lots of excellent b**r being enjoyed.

A special thank you to Steve from Peerless Brewery for coming along and sharing more about the b**rs, the brewery and the craft behind them, and to our own resident b**r expert Steve Hobman for helping make the evening such a success.
And if you missed it, all is not lost…

We still have a choice of four Peerless ales available at the bar, so there’s still time to come in, try something new and enjoy a proper pint at Carden Arms.

Come along, meet the people behind the b**r, hear more about their craft and, importantly, taste a selection of their fantastic b**rs along the way.

It should be a brilliant evening for anyone who appreciates a good pint — whether you know your b**rs inside out or simply enjoy discovering something new.

The evenings are drawing in, there’s a chill in the air, and suddenly a table in a cosy country pub sounds like a very good idea indeed.

We might be saying goodbye to long summer evenings, but we’re heading into one of our favourite times of year at Carden Arms.

Proper pub food. A pint at the bar. Good company. Cosy corners. And nowhere you need to rush off to.

The sort of afternoons that start with lunch and have a habit of carrying on a little longer than planned.

Autumn in the Cheshire countryside has arrived — and we’re very happy about it. 🍂

What a week we had at Carden Arms & Farm. 🌾

We wanted to start the week by saying a big thank you to everyone who spent part of the past week with us.

From those who joined us for our End of Summer Farm Walk, to everyone who came along to our Farm Shop Sale, and those who spent their Sunday with us over lunch, a roast and a drink or two — it was wonderful to see so many familiar faces, as well as plenty of new ones.

Weeks like this are a lovely reminder of how closely connected Carden Arms and Carden Farm really are.

And if you missed Saturday's Farm Shop Sale, you can still take a little bit of the farm home with you.

We have our beautiful fresh Hereford beef and orchard-raised bacon available to buy from the pub, produced from animals raised on our own farm, less than a mile away.

We know where our food comes from because we raise it ourselves — and we're always happy to talk about our animals, how they're cared for and the way we farm.

From our fields, to the pub, to your plate at home. 🌾

Today’s the day — our Farm Shop Sale starts at 12pm! 🥩🌾

Come along to Carden Arms this afternoon and take home some of the wonderful-quality meat from animals raised on our own farm, less than a mile from the pub.

And remember — ask the questions you can’t ask a supermarket.

Ask us where your meat comes from. Ask about our animals. Ask how they’re raised and cared for. We know the story because we raise them ourselves, and we’re always happy to talk about what goes into producing our meat.
