When we moved here just over 4 years ago the front garden was lacking in colour and planting, just grass and trees (and lots of ivy!). Looking at this years show of colour and interest from a variety of wildlife we hope we have improved the outdoor space for our guests..more to follow.

That's the new showers in both HoneyDale and WhayDale cottages installed. Just in time for our guests this weekend.

Energy and water efficient. Our electrician tells us with the extra work he's done they're safer too. Win, win!

A bus right past our door. The new EYMS Wolds Explorer (200) runs between Thixendale and Pocklington at weekends and bank holidays during the summer season (March to September).

A way to visit our village over the bank holiday and during the summer months.

This Bank Holiday weekend is a great opportunity to try the new Wolds Explorer Bus Service, running on Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday.
This great service will allow you to walk lovely linear sections of the Yorkshire Wolds Way between Millington and Huggate and between Huggate and Thixendale.

We've been really busy making improvements at Stable Barn Holiday Cottages. Not least moving over 20 tonnes of soil!

Some photos of our new flower boarders. Aching bodies now but we think the final look is much better than the old drive aggregate.

For now we've just put in a range of plants to add a splash of colour. We'll come up with a proper scheme over the next few years . . . any advice on planting for an exposed hill top with lots of hares, pheasants and their mammal/bird friends gratefully received.

Not happy that we were forced to cut down two of our lovely Ash trees due to dieback. It's changed the look of our tree line at Stable Barn Holiday Cottages

On the plus side we've got a massive pile of wood chippings!
