This weekend marks 100 years since Rolls Royce was founded, and here's where it all began...

Back when The Midland Hotel first opened, what is now the Mount Street Dining Room & Bar was known as The Grill Room. In 1904, it was here that Charles Rolls and Henry Royce first met to discuss working together - a meeting that would lead to the founding of Rolls-Royce.

We’re proud to have played a small part in that history, and you’ll still find reminders of the moment throughout the hotel today. From the plaques and the vintage Rolls-Royce displayed in our entrance, to meeting rooms and even our most premium suite named in their honour.
