Introducing Cakes for Contact!🧁

This autumn, we’re inviting you to put the kettle on, bake a cake and help make a difference!

For over 50 years, Contact Hostel has provided a safe, welcoming home for teenage girls and young women facing homelessness, offering warmth and a place to feel they belong.

With our new Cakes for Contact appeal, you can help support the young women living at Contact by hosting your own cake-filled fundraiser!

Whether it’s an afternoon tea at home, a bake sale at work or coffee and cake with friends, it’s a way to bring people together and raise money for a cause close to our hearts. Every donation helps us continue providing a safe home and support for the girls as they work towards greater independence.

And the best bit? You don’t need to be a star baker to get involved!

🔗Ready to get baking? Head to the link in our bio to find out more and get your free Cakes for Contact fundraising pack.

Let’s turn a slice of cake into something wonderful! 🍰

What a time💕 A huge shoutout to everyone at Femmes & Thems for such a brilliant night of laughs!

We had a gorgeous evening, with fabulous comedy, the warmest atmosphere and so many lovely people. Thank you to Tegan, Alex and everyone involved for putting on such a fantastic event in aid of Contact and for letting us be part of the fun with our raffle!

We’re so pleased to share that we raised £220 from the raffle! Every penny will help us support the young women at Contact experiencing homelessness and we couldn’t have done it without your kindness.

Thank you to everyone who came along! We had the best time and would love to be back again! 🧡

Thank you to Emma for supporting Contact!

Emma has been kind enough to donate some gorgeous clothes for the girls! It was so thoughtful of her to choose pieces they’ll love and be able to enjoy 💗

Contact’s purpose is something Emma truly resonates with. Her personal connection to our work means so much to us and we’re so thankful for the support she has already given us and for her decision to continue supporting Contact.

A very big thank you to The Willows💗

We were so pleased to receive a wonderful delivery of stationary as well as back to school bits and bobs! It’s already proving very popular and we know the girls will get lots of use out of it.

Thank you to everyone at The Willows for continuing to think of Contact and for all the support you give us. It really is appreciated!

✏️ Back to school Donations!

Somehow, it’s already mid-August and September is just around the corner!

A new school year means a fresh timetable, new goals and, of course, the very satisfying feeling of opening a brand-new notebook 📚

We’re looking for donations of school supplies and stationery to help our residents get ready for the year ahead.

We’d particularly welcome:

✏️ Notebooks and lined paper
🖊️ Pens, pencils and highlighters
📓 Pencil cases
📏 Rulers, rubbers and sharpeners
🔢 Calculators
🎒 Backpacks

You can buy items through our Amazon School Supplies Wishlist or drop donations off at the hostel.

A new notebook might seem like a small thing but sometimes it’s the little things that make a new beginning feel special

Fresh from the garden and straight from the plum tree at Contact!

We’ve had so many plums this year that we could probably open our own plum jam shop! So, naturally, we made jam 🌸

What’s next? We’re not quite sure… plum crumble? Plum cake? Plum chutney?

It’s little things like this that help make Contact feel like a home where our residents can feel comfortable and cared for 💛

We are proud to unveil our newly renovated downstairs bathroom at Contact Hostel ✨

In just a few days, the wonderful Bathroom Angels team transformed a tired and outdated space into a bright, modern bathroom that the young women we support can enjoy and take pride in. The skill and attention to detail throughout the refurbishment has made such a positive change to our home.

We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Dr Michael Josephson MBE for generously funding this project and for his continued support of Contact Hostel. Following his previous support in renovating our hallway and landing, Dr Michael Josephson MBE has once again helped us create a welcoming place where the young women living here feel valued and at home.

We are extremely grateful for Dr Michael Josephson MBE’s kindness and ongoing belief in our work. His support makes a lasting difference to the lives of the young women we support, we cannot thank him enough.

Our thanks also go to Diane and the team at Bathroom Angels for carrying out the refurbishment with such care and professionalism. The finished bathroom is a space everyone at Contact Hostel can be proud of!
