A question that we are often posed with is who lives on St Michael's Mount ? Indeed, at the same time as being a National Trust Property, a home for a community of islanders, it is also a family home. The St Aubyn's family live all year round sharing the island with up to 12 other families who all take part in the upkeep and management of the island.

We love this view of the mount through the Agapanthus at Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens . You’d be hard pressed to find a garden view that can compete with this one. Tremenheere is open daily from 10.30am – 5.30pm and is one of our favourite haunts at St Michael’s Bed and Breakfast.

Lamorna Cove is one of Mounts Bay’s best coves and even on a grey day, the water can look good enough to drink! Bring your snorkel and you’re likely to spot an array of wildlife amongst the rocks with some of the best underwater visibility in Cornwall. What makes these southern west waters so clear? It’s mainly down to the fine white sand, minimal main rivers and lack of high swells that pe*****te these still southern west coves.

Each year we discover new artists who depict our wonderful St Michael’s Mount in such unique expression, and this year one we’ve really fallen for the work of Alasdair Lindsay Art . “Ferries for St. Michael’s Mount” and many of his artworks give a peaceful calming sense of our best loved landmarks in Cornwall.

Find his art work at https://buff.ly/3kEUELw and spot all the Mounts Bay locations and beyond.

Ahh Newlyn in the mornings- glassy seas, fishing boats, bustling cafes and if you're lucky spotting a seal or maybe just the local hardy sea swimmers!
Each season Newlyn becomes more of a vibrant lively town, bringing with it new cafes, galleries and coffee spots.

One of our favourite spots to sit and take in the Newlyn buzz is Lovetts. A perfect coffee and wine bar situated in the heart of the town - visit before 11am for the real morning vibe or sip a glass of beautiful Natural wine from 5pm and soak in the summer evening action! Cheers 🍷 🍾

Watching the tide slowly engulf the ancient, cobbled causeway over to St Michaels Mount is always a magical site. The causeway has felt a number of feet, from Pilgrims’ bare feet to Soldiers’ heavy leather boots racing up to the battlements.

Further up towards the castle set in the cobbled path, is the legendary petrified heart (shaped rock) of Cormoran the giant! We'd love to hear about your St Michael's Mount causeway experiences, comment below and share with our followers.

Since the pandemic we have seen a huge rise in outdoor fitness and activities across our beaches in Cornwall. The Hoxton Special situated just here on Marazion beach offers anything from Yoga, Nike Fitness to Stand Up Paddle Boarding, plus awesome coffee for afterwards!

If in doubt bring your yoga straight to the beach here, with a huge span of flat sand (when the tide is out) and a view to die for we couldn’t recommend a better spot for your practice.
