✨ Important Update – Christmas Lights & Festive News ✨

🎄 We know it’s not Christmas yet… but for Christmas fanatics, it’s Christmas all year round!

Following a decision taken by the Town Council on behalf of the previous committee in December — where terms of reference and a constitution were set with no feedback from the previous committee —the Mayor called a public meeting on Thursday 23rd April. You will be pleased to know that at that meeting, a shiny new committee was formed.💖

Prior to this, the Christmas Lights Committee operated as a March Town Council Committee. As such, all minutes are available to view on the March Town Council website, ensuring full transparency and autonomy.

🎄✨ Don’t panic — it’s *not* Christmas again just yet! We’ve only *just* made it out of January… the longest month EVER! 😅

But if you’re looking for something lovely to do tomorrow, why not pop along to the Farmers Fayre? Sadly, Father Christmas won’t be there to turn on any lights 🎅❌ — but there *will* be loads of gorgeous treats from our lovely local vendors! 😍

🎶 Oh, I wish it could be Christmas every day… 🎶

Monday marked our first full committee meeting since the big switch‑on at the end of November 🎄✨

Even though the event itself is seasonal, our work certainly isn’t — we meet at least once a month to catch up, debrief, review, and start shaping next year’s event 🎅📅

A huge shout‑out to our incredible volunteers 🙌💛 — from committee members to stewards — who give their time and energy to make this event happen. And an equally big thank you to the local businesses who support us with sponsorship, transport (tree's don't move themselves), and all the behind‑the‑scenes help we rely on. We’re truly grateful.

As always, even the best‑laid plans can change without notice. We’re currently working on getting all the lights removed… though our now‑famous “everlasting lights” seem to have become celebrities on the MCFD page 💡🌟

We’re always on the lookout for new volunteers. In fact, we’ll be at the March Volunteer Fair this Saturday at St Peter’s Church if you’d like to chat about getting involved 🤝✨ It takes a small but mighty army to bring the magic to life each year — and having a few extra hands in reserve would be a dream or should that be Christmas wish🎄

And the truth? (Shhh… 🤫)
We just love Christmas and all its sparkle so much that we’re never quite ready to be dragged into January without a little festive glow left behind ✨❤️

Today marks his final visit with the March Lions Club CIO Tour – spreading joy, laughter, and plenty of Christmas cheer! 🦁🎄

March Lions we be collecting any spare cash you might have lying around for Young People March and any donations you wish to give to March Foodbank. Please make sure any Foodbank donations have a good best before date and are in a bag.

Santa needs to rest up before the big night, so make sure you’ve got those mince pies, carrots, and milk ready when he drops by on Christmas Eve. 🥧🥕🥛

Good afternoon from Santa HQ. While Mrs Claus is busy packing Santa's sacks ready to load the sleigh on Christmas Eve, Santa is out taking his sleigh on one last tour!

Starting at 6pm, he will be visiting the Elliott Road and Russel Avenue areas of March, including:

Elliott Road, Yarrow Close, Elliott Road, Truman Avenue, Elliott Road, Peas Hill Road, Russell Avenue, Peyton Avenue, Russell Avenue, Gresley Way, Southwell Close and Norwood Road.
