Happy National Dog Day! 🐾🌊

The Isle of Thanet coastline is the ultimate playground for your four-legged best friends! (just ask Thanet Tourism dogs Lottie & Star!) From feeling the sea breeze on breathtaking cliff-top walks to getting the warmest of welcomes (and maybe a treat or two!) at our wonderfully dog-friendly local cafes and pubs, there are so many amazing adventures waiting for you both.

To make sure you and your pup have a fun, stress-free day out, please keep in mind that our summer beach rules are currently in place. To help keep our coast clean and safe for everyone during the busy months, seasonal restrictions apply from 1 May through 30 September. During this time, dogs are restricted on certain beaches or must be kept on a lead in specific areas, but don't worry there's plenty of spots to enjoy off-lead, even in summer.

Congratulations to Aster Broadstairs & The Wellington, Margate for being added to the prestigious MICHELIN Guide.

Aster is the Isle's only dedicated fully-vegan dine-in restaurant! The intimate 8-cover restaurant in Oscar Road is just a stones throw from the seafront and chef, Luke Crittenden, has over 17 years experience and is a one-man band, both cooking and serving customers. Wow!

The Wellington, located in Margate's popular Old Town is run by chef, Billy Stock and Front of House, Ellie Topham and serves hearty classic pub dishes with a French influence, great drinks, and local Kentish produce. Yum!

Both restaurants have been open less than a year, so this is a huge achievement. These additions complement our thriving and delicious food scene across the Isle!
