Job description
1. About Us:

Here at The Hollies Hotel we pride ourselves on creating an excellent customer experience. We are a small, family run business who have grown from 5 bedrooms in 1986, to over 80 guest rooms today. Catering primarily to corporate clientele during the week, our weekends see locals and leisure guests enjoying dinner and events.

2. The Job:

We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic waiters/waitresses to join our team and provide exceptional service to our guests.

o Typical shift patterns of 07:00-11:00 and 18:00-22:30/23:00, with occasional need for daytime conference shifts.

3. Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities will include:

o Guest Service: Greet guests warmly and assist them to their tables. Provide menu information and recommendations to enhance the dining experience. Take accurate food and drink orders and relay them promptly to the kitchen and bar.

o Order Management: Serve food and beverages efficiently, ensuring accuracy and presentation standards are met. Monitor and attend to guest needs throughout their meal, ensuring a pleasant dining experience.

o Table Management: Set up and clear tables before and after service, maintaining cleanliness and organisation of dining areas, including the terrace and bar areas.

o Collaboration with Team: Work closely with kitchen and bar staff to ensure seamless service. Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to manage orders and guest requests.

o EPOS System: Operate the Electronic Point of Sale (EPOS) system for order taking, billing, and processing payments. Ensure accurate handling of cash and card transactions.

o Menu Offering: Familiarity with the menu offerings, ingredients, and preparation methods to guide guests and address menu-related queries. Including, a full understanding of allergens, gluten free food, vegetarian and vegan offerings.

o Health and Safety: Ensure all health, safety, and hygiene regulations are adhered to.

4. Qualifications & Requirements

Whilst full training in the role will be provided, there are some key attribute we are looking for:

o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

o Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.

o A willingness to learn and a positive attitude.

o Attention to detail and accuracy, especially when taking orders and processing payments.

o Commitment to delivering excellent customer service.

o Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

o Previous experience in a similar role is preferred, but not essential.

5. Job Specifications:

Hours: 25 -35 hours a week, with typical shift patterns of 07:00-11:00 and 18:00-22:30/23:00, with occasional need for daytime conference shifts.

Salary: Competitive hourly rate and tips.

We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our team, working under our Head Chef and Sous Chef, to help us continue to delight our guests with culinary excellence.

2. The Job:
As a Commis Chef at The Hollies Hotel, you will play a pivotal role in creating a memorable dining experience for our guests. Your culinary skill, creativity, and attention to detail will be crucial in ensuring that every dish served reflects our commitment to quality.
We typically only open for breakfast and dinner, with the occasional conference buffet lunch. The requirements would be largely a split shift pattern to offer the opportunity to have full days off.

3. Responsibilities:
- Food Preparation: Prepare and cook a wide variety of dishes to the highest standards of quality, taste, and presentation.
- Kitchen Management: Support in the supervision of kitchen staff, management of inventory, and ensure that all food safety and sanitation standards are consistently met.

5. Job Specifications:
Hours: 30/40 hours a week, dependant on the candidate, with typical shift patterns of 06:30-11:00 and 17:00-21:30.
Salary: Dependant on experience, but from £11/12 per hour depending on age/experience.

We are seeking a dedicated Restaurant Supervisor to join our front of house team and manage our restaurant operations. We work on a two-week rota, with an average 15 - 30 hours per week, shift requirements predominantly required between 17:30-00:00, although there will be limited morning and day-time shift requirements.

3. Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to,:

- Manage Operations: Efficiently manage reservations, table turnover, and guest flow to provide smooth dining experiences during peak times.

- Reservation Management: Handle reservations, including managing booking systems and accommodating walk-in guests efficiently. Coordinating table assignments to optimise service and maximise guest experience.

- EPOS System: Utilise and manage the Electronic Point of Sale (EPOS) system for order taking, billing, and reporting.

- Staff Training & Supervision: Train and supervise front-of-house staff, ensuring they understand service standards, restaurant procedures, and are able to effectively use the EPOS system.

- Opening and Closing Duties: Open for dinner service and ensure it is prepared for guests. Close at night, including securing the premises and completing end-of-day procedures (such as reconcile takings to ensure accurate financial reporting).

- Guest Relations: Build and maintain positive relationships with guests to encourage repeat business. Manage guest queries or complaints and feedback with professionalism and a focus on resolution.

- Menu Understanding: Familiarity with the offerings, ingredients, and preparation methods to guide guests and address menu-related queries. Including, a full understanding of allergens, gluten free food, vegetarian and vegan offerings.

- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all health, safety, and hygiene regulations are adhered to.

Whilst we will provide a full onboarding to the role, we are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

- Previous experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry.

- Strong leadership and management skills.

- Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Commitment to delivering fantastic customer service in a friendly yet professional manner.

- Proficient in using, or aptitude to learn, the EPOS systems.

- Numerate literacy in handling transactions and running reconciliations.

- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and alternate weekends.

5. Job Specifications:

Hours: 15 - 30 hours per week, shift requirements predominantly required between 17:30-00:00, although there will be limited morning and daytime shift requirements.

Salary: Depends on experience, but starts at £13.00 per hour.

We are looking for a chef to join our small friendly team in a well organized hotel kitchen to work under the direction of our Head Chef & Sous Chef.

Approx 20 hours per week, 5.6 weeks paid holiday, company pension contributions.
