💙 Following on from yesterdays fire, we’ve all had chance to catch our breathe and are very grateful everyone is ok.
We are pleased to say that all went well given the emergency, and all housekeeping is in good order on Blue Dial, but for your information, here are a few reminders to help keep you safe:-

If there is an emergency, make sure everyone is out of the caravan and raise the alarm. Call 999.
Move well away from the area and do not return.

- Make sure your van has a good quality, working smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detector. Check them regularly.
-most vans are fitted with an extinguisher, if you have one, make sure it is in good working order, or buy one.
- A fire blanket is always handy, placed in a kitchen.
- Make yourself aware of the many fire extinguishers situated around site and know where your nearest one is.
- All garden sheds, storage and decking should be made of fire retardant materials.
- Don’t leave rubbish lying around or cluttering entrances to your van or immediate area.
- be careful with ci******es and candles
- unplug electrical items when not in use.
- make sure all electrical items are in good working order, never leave any running unattended, especially washers, dryers or dishwashers
- Have your gas check done annually, using a qualified engineer.
- Gas regulators should be under 10 years old.
- make sure you have adequate insurance. Not only for yourself, but for any other vans that may become damaged.

Thankfully emergencies are rare and risks are low, but it is always good to make sure you are prepared. All these measures were observed yesterday, and did contribute to making sure no one was seriously injured. Unfortunately the fire was just too big to contain.

Please be assured, our risks assessments have been reviewed following the incident and we are confident we have everything in place to keep you safe. However, we can only do so much, as your van is privately owned you also have a responsibility to make sure your holiday home is safe for yourselves, your family and other park users.

There has been a fire at Blue Dial this evening.
We’d just like to reassure our caravan owners, everyone is ok and the situation is under control. We have been in touch with everyone whose van is involved. Thank you for everyone who helped. Especially our amazing Emergency services.

🐥🌸⭐️💚What a lovely Easter we have had on Blue Dial!
🌪️Despite the weather’s best efforts, it was lovely to see so many of you here enjoying your vans.
💙 Special thanks to our Moo Coats and their amazing team who entertained us all weekend!
It warms our hearts to see so many of you enjoying yourselves, children and families engaging in our community and taking part in time honoured traditions such as our Easter bonnet parade and an egg dump!

‼️ROAD SAFETY ON BLUE DIAL‼️

We politely remind you that ALL roads on site are a strict 5 MPH.
This includes ALL fields. NOT JUST ENTERING ENTERING AND EXISTING THE SITE
Please be mindful when driving round site.

We also ask that you make sure children know about road safety whilst playing out. Please tell them NOT to run out in front of vehicles and be aware of where your children are playing especially the young ones. They can easily become distracted and run out in front of a vehicle. It is vital that you make them aware of keeping safe whilst playing out.

The 5 MPH applies to all vehicles, if you have a motorised scooter, this should not be going faster than the limit.
