🦊🌳 A little bit of woodland magic in Hall Leys Park

This beautiful carved wooden fox was created from a felled tree in Hall Leys Park, Matlock — giving new life to a tree that had reached the end of its time.

It’s lovely to see something so characterful and imaginative emerge from the wood. A wonderful reminder that even when a tree comes down, its story doesn’t necessarily end. ❤️

🌿✨ Celebrating Our Wonderful Group Stays at Glendon ✨🌿

Over the years, one of the greatest joys at Glendon Bed & Breakfast has been welcoming groups who take all our rooms for their special occasions. Since 2012, we’ve had the privilege of hosting gatherings for weddings, family celebrations, milestone birthdays, reunions, and cherished get togethers that bring people together in the most meaningful way.

This weekend was no exception. We welcomed a lovely family group celebrating a wedding, and it was a pleasure to see everyone relaxing, reconnecting, and enjoying time together. Moments like these remind us why we love what we do.

To every group who has stayed with us over the past fourteen years — thank you. Your celebrations, laughter, and shared memories have become part of Glendon’s story, and we’re truly grateful.
Looking ahead, we’re excited to continue hosting group stays at Derwent House, Derbyshire, England, our self catering Georgian property just next door to Glendon. Whether it’s a family gathering, a celebration, or simply time away together, we look forward to welcoming many more special occasions.

Fourteen years ago, we opened the doors to Glendon Bed and Breakfast, never imagining the incredible journey that lay ahead. Since then, we've had the privilege of welcoming guests from across the UK and around the world, many of whom have become much more than guests,.

We've celebrated special occasions with you, shared stories over breakfast, recommended favourite walks and hidden gems, and watched so many of you return year after year. Every visit, every kind word, and every memory has helped make Glendon what it is today.

As many of you know, this year marks the end of an era. In just five months' time, we'll be closing our doors for the final time.

While it's bittersweet, we're incredibly grateful for the last 14 years and for everyone who has been part of our story. We'd love to make these final months as special as the first.

If you've stayed with us before, we'd be delighted to welcome you back one last time—to revisit your favourite places, enjoy another leisurely breakfast, and help us celebrate everything Glendon has meant over the years.

And if you've always meant to visit but never quite got around to it, now is the perfect opportunity. We'd love to welcome you before we say goodbye.
