How lovely to return each year and notice the small changes. Sign to Aira Force looking very smart! And so many flowers out on the walk. We did the full 10k, up & round Gowbarrow, down to Aira Force & back up to Dockray.

We couldn’t resist a visit to to add to our collection of local pottery, featured throughout the house. This lovely pot is by Mary Chappelhow, Interlude Ceramics Ltd. She, like us, is inspired by the colours of the hills. See how the glaze changes in the morning and evening light. Good old walk today! From Matterdale church, up Gowbarrow, thro the woods (first cuckoo of Spring!) and down to the shore of Ullswater and along to Pooley Bridge (& the very welcoming pubs)!
