Melksham is a historic market town and thriving business centre in the heart of Wiltshire, perfectly situated for exploring the Georgian City of Bath, the National Trust Village of Lacock and the cluster of other National Trust properties on our door step.

Enjoy a cycle or walk along the beautiful Kennet & Avon Canal and visit the fascinating Caen Hill fight of Locks. The World Heritage sites of Stonhenge and Avebury, as well as Longleat, Castle Combe and Salisbury are all easily accessible.

You can even book your stay with us if you are attending an event at The Assembly Hall.

We also offer accommodation for the Bath Half Marathon, Devizes to Westminster canoe race, Badminton Horses Trials, Chippenham Folk Festival and the increasingly popular Bath Christmas Market weekends.

We are situated approximately 20 minutes from Junction 17 of the M4 (Chippenham), giving swift access to Swindon and Bristol.

The local business centres of Trowbridge, Chippenham, Corsham and Devizes are also close by.

Melksham has its own train station and buses run frequently from outside the hotel or the market place, just a couple of minutes walk away.

•A LITTLE ABOUT US•

The Conigre is a 17th Century former farmhouse, easily accessible from the A350. We are a small and friendly family-run hotel full of rustic charm and character. We are also uniquely located close to the centre of Melksham.

We are situated in Melksham, close to the beautiful Wiltshire countryside as well as the town centre a 5 minute stroll away. Park up in our car park and enjoy a short stroll to the many pubs, excellent restaurants and other local amenities in this bustling market town.

We are also central to multiple attractions and a short drive of Bath, Bradford on Avon, Lacock, Bowood House, Castle Combe, Trowbridge and Devizes, and 20 minutes' drive from junction 17 of the M4.

The Conigre has 8 individually styled, warm and charming guest rooms, either in the main house or in the converted stable block with easy access to our courtyard/car park.

Whether you require a room full of rustic character or a more functional business room we have a room to suit; we will always recommend the best room for you.

All our rooms have crisp cotton sheets, fluffy towels, luxury toiletries, complimentary tea/coffee/biscuits, free wi-fi and flat screen colour TV.
