Campfires, dog-friendly and secluded pitches under the trees. We're rustic but with just enough creature comforts like hot running water, showers and a shop for those essentials. If you need more entertainment than playing in the woods, there's bushcraft courses and walks to local pubs or the farm shop for locally reared meat.

We're delighted to be able to lift our (longest ever!) fire-ban and can't wait for the smell of the campfires returning tonight! What will you be cooking on yours?

Last-minute weekend recharge! 🏕️

We have a couple of our pre-erected bell tents still available for this Bank Holiday weekend - and it's a good one...pizzas on Friday, kids' activities on Saturday, then a film night under the trees on Sunday.

There's no need to leave your four-legged (VIP!) family members at home when you camp with us - we are (FRIENDLY!) dog-friendly! 🐕🐩🐶

Your furry campers must just pass the 'tummy-tickle' test...we're pleased to report that this gorgeous pair passed with flying colours! 🥰

(Your dogs should be on a lead when not in the vicinity of your pitch and we ask that you clean up after them (poo bags and bins provided). Unfortunately, dogs are not permitted in our pre-erected Bell Tents.)

Drop the kids (ages 5-15) with us for a full day of archery, fire-lighting, tree-climbing, survival skills and hands-on bushcraft. Whether they're your resident Bear Grylls or your would-be Katniss Everdeen, they'll come home muddy, tired, and grinning ear to ear.

✅ No need to be camping with us - day sessions are open to everyone
✅ Pick and choose as many days as suit you
✅ Spaces are limited - book ahead to avoid disappointment

🏕️ Turns out today is both International Self-Care Day and National Tequila Day...who are we to argue with the universe's timing?!

Self-care doesn't have to mean a spa day (though no judgement if it does!). Sometimes it's just fresh air, no signal, and a slower pace than the one you left behind in the car park.

And if your version of recharging happens to involve a margarita and a woodland walk - well, we've got the woods covered, at least.

CAMPFIRE BAN IN PLACE

Sadly we have had to take the decision to maintain the current campfire ban that is in place. We want everyone to enjoy all that the campsite offers but we also need you to help protect it.

We do not take these decisions lightly, as we know how important campfires are to the camping experience, but it only takes one rogue spark to start a wildfire and when there is so much to lose, we can’t take that risk.

Whilst the ban is in place, you are still welcome to use gas BBQs and camping stoves - with due care and attention. But, unfortunately, NO CAMPFIRES ALLOWED including coal, charcoal, disposable BBQs or any other solid fuel fired cooker.

If you have bought logs or Swedish candles with your booking, then we will, of course, refund these in full when the fire-ban remains in place during your stay.

Due to the gloriously hot weather conditions we’ve been enjoying, coupled with this week's high winds, we're sorry to say that for everyone's safety we have had no choice but to impose a COMPLETE FIRE BAN.

This means, unfortunately, NO CAMPFIRES ALLOWED including coal, charcoal, disposable BBQs or any other solid fuel fired cooker. You may, however, still use gas BBQs and camping stoves.

The ban is currently in place until this Friday morning (17th July) and we will continue to closely monitor the situation. Updates will be posted here, on our website and we will endeavour to contact you direct if you are due to arrive when a ban is in place.

Whilst this ban is in place, we will obviously refund all pre-booked logs and grill/oven hire charges in full.

Despite the above, it’s still lovely and cool amongst the shade of the trees and a great chance to escape the heat of the city…we look forward to welcoming you soon!

In May, 30 students from UCL and partner organisations joined us at Badgells Wood for a four-day BioBlitz - recording as many species as possible in a short window. Rain didn't dampen the enthusiasm: the group logged an incredible 224 observations across 159 plant and animal species!

A real highlight was spotting numerous Beautiful Pearl moths - a scarce species historically confined to a few Kentish woodlands, now expanding thanks to well-managed woodland like ours. A great sign for the health of our site.

Huge thanks to everyone who took part - we hope to see you again next year! 🌿🦋
