We'd like to say a huge thankyou to  everybody who's choosen to stay at Dan y Coetir Lodge over the last 8 years we really do appreciate it.

Unfortunately, we need to take a break from hosting, and the lodge will no longer be available to rent for the foreseeable future.

It was sad to say goodbye to our cable reel table, but it had definitely seen better days, and our new bench from Reworkshop is a lot more practical and looking great in the back garden, at Dan y Coetir Lodge.

How's about a trip to Rock UK Summit Centre this fantastic facility is just 13 miles or 25 mins in the car from Dan y Coetir Lodge and boasts stunning indoor climbing walls, bouldering, a cafe with great coffee and some of the best bacon rolls in Wales, outdoor play area, a man-made caving system, Aerial Adventure course and over 20 instructed activities. Summit Centre is a great choice for family days out.

Next on our list of local attractions is Zip World Tower just 9 miles or 15 mins in the car from Dan y Coetir Lodge.

Home to Phoenix and the Tower Coaster, Zip World Tower is the 4th Zip World site to open, and is the 1st to be situated in south Wales. Nestled in the Rhigos mountain range, and boasting stunning panoramic views, this adventure hub is situated at the old Tower Colliery coal mining site, and has created a new lease of life for this historic and widely-loved base.

This one is definitely more for the thrill seekers but has a great cafe where the less adventurous can relax.

Happy New Year! To celebrate the start of 2022 we thought we'd share just some of the fantastic visitor attractions that Merthyr Tydfil and the Brecon Beacons have to offer.

Over the next few days we'll highlight everything from serene to extreme helping you plan your next family holiday, or get away, with friends at Dan y Coetir Lodge.

First on our list is the amazing Brecon Mountain Railway Co. Ltd. Capture some of the Brecon Beacons awesome scenery on a historic 10 mile round trip.
Leaving from Pant just 3 miles north of Merthyr Tydfil, and taking in incredible views all the way, including Pontsticill and Taf Fechan reservoir.
A great day out for all the family and a perfect wet weather activity, with cafe and gift shop.
Definitely put this one on your list.

We're good to go, as soon as current lockdown restrictions are lifted.

We are currently taking bookings and please be assured that if you can't travel, or we are unable to host you due to Covid 19 lockdown restrictions you can either move, place on hold, or receive a full refund for your holiday.

Dan y Coetir Lodge Covid 19 update 9th November 2020

We are pleased to announce that Dan y Coetir Lodge is now able to reopen. We are able to host single family groups who live in, and are traveling from Wales, proof of address for all group members will need to be provided upon booking to enable us to compile with track and trace protocols.

We understand this may sound strict but its just a small part of everything we have had to do to comply with the new guidelines and recieve the 'Good to go' accreditation from Visit Britain .
if you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask.

If you are looking to book or are due to stay at Dan Y Coetir Lodge we urge you to read this latest updates, please pay particular attention to whether your proposed group are travelling and staying within the Government guidelines, It is your responsibility to ensure you comply. Please visit www.gov.uk/coronavirus for more information if you are unsure.

The recently updated Government guidelines also apply to the use of Hot Tubs, with only members of the same household being able to use the Hot Tub.

As Dan y Coetir Lodge is situated in a residential area we ask all our guests to please pay particular thought to our neighbour’s possible nervousness surrounding Covid 19 and strictly follow social distancing measures when entering or leaving the accommodation.

We have also updated our Terms and Conditions regarding Covid 19 (for Airbnb guests this insert can be found in the 'House Rules' section), this includes important information on what will happen if you become ill whilst staying at the Dan Y Coetir Lodge. At present Government Guidelines state, anyone displaying symptoms of Covid 19 are required to self-isolate for 14 days. In the event that this does happen during your stay it will not only have a significant impact on you but will also result in a knock on effect to our up and coming bookings, please see our Terms and Conditions for more information.

We believe we are doing all we can to ensure your stay with us at Dan Y Coetir Lodge is safe and enjoyable, we have carried out new risk assessments on the house and Hot Tub, stepped up all cleaning routines and introduced Covid 19 specific check sheets to ensure further safety of our guests. We have also updated our Welcome Pack within the property, this includes additional Covid 19 specific information, please spend a few minutes familiarising yourself with the pack as there are a few things we need you as the guest to consider during your stay, there is also information on our new checkout procedure.

Key Changes that we have implemented due to Covid 19 that you will need to know before your stay:

1. We require our guests to arrive with Face Masks/disposable gloves/hand sanitiser and disinfectant wipes

2. Board Games/books and DVDs have been removed but are available upon request prior to arrival

3. We have reduced the amount of Kitchen utensils available and will only leave 5 sets of cutlery and crockery, if there is anything you specifically require please request before arrival

4. .We have removed the Hair Dryer/extra blankets and guests will only be supplied with one pool towel and one bath sheet each

We ask that you do not travel to Dan Y Coetir Lodge if you are displaying symptoms or have tested positive for Coronavirus, you can contact us anytime if this is the case to discuss your options.
