We’ll be recommending Huntress Charters fishing trips to our guests. Wonderful evening today, catching around 20 mackerel and watching dolphins leap through the waves.

Grass in the park opposite Honeycombe House, bleached by the 2022 heatwave. Perfect swimming weather. When early this morning we walked 10 mins for a dip at Portmellon beach, we were delighted to be joined by a large Grey Seal. After watching us calmly, he swam under us and lay on the sandy bottom staring up!

We are delighted, shortly after buying lovely Honeycombe House from Ian and Val, to have begun welcoming bed and breakfast guests.

Much is unchanged, including the awesome view of course, but we’ve reduced the number of guest rooms to just two doubles with private terraces overlooking the harbour (Albert and Victoria), which should make for a rather exclusive experience!

Following an exciting diplomatic career around the world, we’re thrilled to have settled in beautiful, fascinating Mevagissey. What could be more refreshing during the current heatwave than wading into a clear Cornish sea…?

Honeycombe House will be under new ownership from Tuesday 14th June 2022, and we are delighted that the new owners will still be offering B&B.
We have thoroughly enjoyed our 17 + years at the helm, and wish to thank all our guests for choosing to stay with us, on one or more occasions. We have met lots of lovely guests over the years and more importantly also made some great lifelong friends.
We are intending to retire and have some time to ourselves and with the family, and very much looking forward to the next chapter in our lives.
We will certainly miss the incredible view from the house and our breakfast room, but fingers crossed, if all goes to plan, we will still be living in the village and therefore still able to enjoy the wonderful village of Mevagissey.

We shall be re-opening Honeycombe House on Monday 13th July 2020, after our (forced) extended break!
In common with every business in the land, we have carried out a comprehensive Covid-19 risk assessment following UK Government and industry guidelines, and implemented a number of changes to our normal operation for the safety and hopefully relaxation and enjoyment of our guests whilst staying with us, e.g. our breakfast tables are now set 2 metres apart and breakfast will be served to the table, with no self service element. We have also introduced staggered breakfast times with a 20 minute interval between different rooms. A further example is a change to the daily servicing of our guest rooms and frequent sanitising of the communal areas of the house.
We will only be letting two rooms in July and then two to three rooms in August and September to maintain social distancing.
We look forward to welcoming both new and returning guests to Mevagissey.
