The apartment forms part of an old inn called the Miners Standard which dates back to 1783. It has all the charm of a character derbyshire mining village with all the creature comforts of modern living inside. Guest access

You will have access to the apartment via its own private front door. There is a back door out to the smoking area and steps up to the back garden and allocated decking / outdoor seating area. You will be met by Helen to show you around upon arrival and check-in. Interaction with guests

If you require some further information on the surrounding area, we are happy to help, as work from home. We have left local attraction leaflets in the apartment to give you a guide, along with selection of books on the area. There is a local co-op at the bottom of the Hill going into Wirksworth which you can get everything you need for your stay regarding food etc. Its a 5 minute drive down the hill or 25 mins walking normally taking in the views. There is a vending machine at the pub at the top of the hill which sells eggs, milk and orange juice is case of emergency. Other things to note

Middleton is surrounded by other picturesque villages and bustling market towns with historic buildings, speciality shops and local produce ...wooded valleys overlooked by spectacular crags and cut by sparking rivers. The Derbyshire Dales has all of this - a perfect choice for a day out, a weekend break or a longer holiday. Walkers and cyclists enjoy an unrivalled choice of waymarked paths – offering routes to suit every ability, from gentle riverside paths to challenging long-distance routes. But many people visit the area simply to enjoy a gentle stroll around one of the many unspoilt villages. Market towns of Bakewell, Wirksworth are all unique in style and character. wealth of historic houses, including splendid Chatsworth, medieval Haddon Hall & a World Heritage Site at Cromford.

TICKETS UPDATE | A quick head count on tickets sold since we started taking bookings on 1 July shows that our fireworks nights are selling fast 👍

There's a fireworks finale every Saturday in October, plus a new "low noise" display on the final night of the 2022 season, Sunday 30 October.

Most popular night so far is Saturday 1 October, followed by Saturday 8 October.

We've frozen last year's prices and once again accompanied under 16s are FREE (but you do need to book free under 16 tickets when you book).

The World Famous Bakewell pudding is just 20 minutes from us....

Hands up if you've tried Bakewell Pudding before! 🙋‍♀️ Did you know: this famous local delicacy was accidentally created by a local cook in the 1800s? 🥄🥧

The Pudding was the result of a misunderstanding at a local inn, when visiting noblemen ordered a strawberry tart, but instead of stirring the egg mix into the pastry, the cook spread it on top of a layer of jam! The Pudding was so successful that it became legendary 👏
