"Another one on our list to visit, is one of England’s oldest coaching inns, The Spread Eagle in Midhurst, in the South Downs National Park. Dating from 1430, it has 39 rooms plus a pool and spa and Queen Elizabeth I is said to have stayed in the inn. You can sleep in a four-poster bed in The Queen’s Suite, which even comes with the oldest wig closet in existence. Handy."

Sussex Jaguar E-type Club and XK Club members, together with a few Surrey members, celebrated the 65th anniversary of the day of the launch of the E-type in Geneva with a 25-mile drive, in convoy, from Cowfold in the east to Midhurst in the west.

They all landed safely at The Spread Eagle Hotel and we were thrilled to host the group for lunch in his beautiful Jacobean hall. What a sight to see all of those iconic cars parked up outside the hotel!
