HELP WANTED
Hi,
I am looking for help to get my garden and home back into some kind of order. I had a mudslide here in August 2025 which kind of took away my livelihood and left me really deflated and lost and feeling disheartened and defeated. All my hard work seemed to have been for nothing. The mudslide was devastating and did a lot of damage. I have found it hard to face this and come back from it.
However, friends and kind folk around have convinced me that I must not give up!!!! So, I want to open my cafe this year and start selling artisan makes along with furniture and recycled bits and bobs, and maybe do a few elopement weddings and open my bar to the community at weekends, and offer pre-booked afternoon teas on the garden over Summer.
The thing is, my health has been affected over the last 2 years as a result of sustained stress, trauma etc. and I need some help to get things giloing again, to make the place look inviting and loved. But I can't manage all of this alone.
I used to have workaways here, but the way that site now works means I can no longer seek help through them. So I am reaching out to ask for help on here.
I rent a farmhouse in Cornwall on the Rame Peninsular, the sea is just a few minutes walk from me, but I am blessed with being located in a peaceful country lane. I am wondering if there is anyone out there who is looking for a base for 3 to 6 months or so, maybe longer, in exchange for some help around here in the garden, the farmhouse and DIY. I can offer the right person/couple a place to live and food and cake! If you have your own camper or motorhome, you would be welcome to site it here. We can sort out electric hook up.
I appreciate this isn't for everyone, but the location here is beautiful with lovely interesting villages close by (kingsand/Cawsand/Millbrook) and a very caring community with lots going.
There is easy access to Plymouth, Exeter. You can catch a train from St Germans to Penzance or London...it really is a very special place to be. Lots of alternative therapists on the Peninsular too. I am a Reiki Practitioner aswell. Its a very healing place to live. I have 3 dogs and two cats and am soon looking to get chickens. I was a nurse for 24 years.
I am looking for a kind, easy going, creative and 'can do' kind of person to share this time with, someone who can turn their hand to most things, and is able to enjoy their own space as well as other's company. I am easy going, caring and full of ideas...very creative and I make a good cream tea and cakes. So whoever comes will get to sample these. I need someone to try out my new baking treats for the cafe on!
