Good Morning,

We are so lucky here at Myrtle Cottage to have the most wonderful and interesting guests.

We recently had a lovely young man staying with us, who was part of the German war graves team, visiting Porlock for the dedication of a new headstone for a German citizen who died during World War One.

He produce a video of the visit, it’s a beautiful video, very informative and interesting story. Benjamin has given us permission to share this video with you.

We know some of you were disappointed when you couldn’t get a place at the 2026 Lyn Valley Classic — so we promised THOSE ON OUR RESERVE LIST that we’d give you first chance for next year.
And we’ve kept our word! 🙌

A huge thank you to Rachel Gilmore MP for finding the time in her very busy diary and come and talk to us, Marsha & David residence of Bell Yard, Helen from Whortleberry tearoom and Michelle resident, all things Vale Yard and PVCIC.

Porlock Information Centre any news on the Exmoor coaster - we now have guests asking !!

What a wonderful week where we hosted a family of 6, some of who are year 4 returning guests, who took all three double rooms.

A pleasure as always to host them, they have booked again for April 2027.

It was as delightful that two of them, Nat and Tom also surprised the family with getting engaged whilst in Porlock.
