We visited the beautiful exhibition at East Quay by stained-glass artist Pinkie Maclure and what struck me most was the extraordinary detail. The longer you peer, the more you notice the intricate storytelling in the glass: butterflies and moths with delicate markings, feathers built from tiny etched lines, and details that only reveal themselves if you look closely. ‘Earthly Spiritis’ is on It’s on until 4th May - and it’s free. I highly recommend it.

Last night at the UK Open Darts Championship in Minehead and the atmosphere was incredible.

Lights, music, walk-ons, a sea of fancy dress, and a lot of 180s. From the stage drama to the brilliant chaos in the crowd, it’s feels more like a huge party.

And seeing the players up close signing shirts and meeting fans makes it even better.

Some of the best days on Exmoor start with a signpost like this. 🌿

From here you can head towards Selworthy Beacon, wander down to Bossington, or follow the path towards Minehead along the stunning coast. Every direction leads to big views, fresh sea air, and that wonderful feeling of being completely away from it all.

After a day exploring the coast paths and moorland trails, there’s nothing better than returning to a cosy cottage nearby.

There’s no “right” way to stay here.

Some guests come to reconnect.
Some come to rest and relax.
Some come to wander, others to do very little at all.

You might arrive with walking boots, a dog, a book you’ve been meaning to read or nothing planned beyond a decent night’s sleep and a slower morning.

What everyone seems to share is the same quiet shift: less noise, a slower pace, and space to feel like yourself again.

If peace feels like a treat, you’ll be very comfortable here.

We’re on the Jurassic Coast and it’s closer than most people expect. A short drive brings you to places like Helwell Bay and Kilve Beach, where rock pools, fossils, and wide skies turn a simple walk into an afternoon of discovery. Perfect for curious children, slow explorers, and anyone who likes a bit of wonder with their sea air.

Come in winter for bracing walks and big skies, or in warmer months for barefoot evenings and sunsets that stretch on quietly.
