Something special is happening tonight…. 👀🌘

Between 18:17 - 19:13 this evening the UK will see a partial solar eclipse… between 90-96% of the Sun will be obscured by the moon…. the best in two decades. 🕶️🌅

This will be followed by the peak of Perseids… a meteor shower. Together, this is a very rare occurrence, and an amazing opportunity to see shooting stars. 💫🌘

There is no better place to see this than Exmoor, Europe’s first designated Dark Sky Reserve 🖤

Don't forget to catch the deep partial solar eclipse covering between 90% and 96% of the sun tomorrow evening (Wed) from around 6.10pm.

Plus, the deep partial eclipse coincides with the peak of the annual Perseid meteor shower — meaning if you stay out after dark on Exmoor you could catch shooting stars!

This autumn, experience the magic of Exmoor National Park after dark as the festival celebrates its 10th year and its biggest programme yet.

With 70+ events to choose from, you can enjoy everything from UV rock pooling and moonlit pool dips to night-time e-bike rides, astronomy sessions, planetarium experiences, nocturnal wildlife-themed crafts and so much more.

🎵 Live music at Harbour Café (next door) from 5:00pm, serving pulled pork baps and pizza slippers.

🎶 Then head down to the harbour for live music from 7:00pm until late.

It’s not just Shetland Ponies at Duddings — you’ll often see bunnies darting across the fields, a fox passing through after dark, and every now and then, a little frog tucked among the grass. 🐸

Sorry we’ve been a little quiet on here — it’s been a busy couple of weeks out in the grounds. We’ve been knee‑deep in gardening, pruning back summer growth, tidying borders, and getting fresh hay sorted for the ponies. Everything is looking lovely for the summer, we can’t wait to see you.
