Save the date!

The Dunster Winter Festival 2026 will be held over the weekend of the 4th to 6th December.

Starting with a fabulous banquet on the Friday evening, over the weekend there will be a glorious programme of medieval entertainment, music, kids's activities, Santa in his grotto, workshops, talks, trader events, the village and the Castle will be dressed for Christmas and the Festival will conclude with a torch-lit procession on Sunday afternoon.

Something special is happening tonight…. 👀🌘

Between 18:17 - 19:13 this evening the UK will see a partial solar eclipse… between 90-96% of the Sun will be obscured by the moon…. the best in two decades. 🕶️🌅

This will be followed by the peak of Perseids… a meteor shower. Together, this is a very rare occurrence, and an amazing opportunity to see shooting stars. 💫🌘

There is no better place to see this than Exmoor, Europe’s first designated Dark Sky Reserve 🖤

Don't forget to catch the deep partial solar eclipse covering between 90% and 96% of the sun tomorrow evening (Wed) from around 6.10pm.

Plus, the deep partial eclipse coincides with the peak of the annual Perseid meteor shower — meaning if you stay out after dark on Exmoor you could catch shooting stars!
