The Old Mill Holiday Cottages, in North Wales, are a small family run business set within a historic mill conservation area near Nannerch, Flintshire nestled within the Clwydian Hills an 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty'.

* Spacious guest car park & landscaped grounds The complex, is set within beautiful landscaped grounds, with play park, dog walk and nature garden. Guests have 4 cottages to choose from, including dog friendly properties.

* Millers Cottage - Well equipped, ground floor, dog friendly cottage - sleeps 2
* The Long Barn - Spacious two bedroom cottage, with two separate bathrooms, ideal for families or friends sharing. Dog friendly.
* The Roost - New for 2021! Stylish accommodation, ideal couples retreat - sleeps 2. All of the cottages are recently renovated while retaining old world charm with characterful exposed beams. The cottages are very well equipped, however if you want a night off from cooking try the popular Cherry Pie Inn, just next door. The cottages are an ideal base to enjoy the countryside and beaches of North Wales. There are fantastic walks from the door step, with plenty of good food pubs close by. Popular places to visit include, Loggerheads Country Park, Moel Famau, Conwy, Llandundno, Llangollen and Chester. Millers Cottage and The Long Barn are dog friendly. 🥰We're extremely grateful to one of our wonderful recent guests, who produced this short drone video for us. This gives a great overview of the outdoor space and helps future guests to see exactly what to expect.

The video shows our one-acre of landscaped grounds which includes:

* 🚗Large guest car-park, plus, solar carport (New for 2026)

* ⚡EV guest charging point

* Children's play park

* 🍲🍻The white building you can just see in the background is The Cherry Pie Inn, our fabulous neighbors and a firm restaurant favourite with our guests.

* 🐶🐾Not shown on the footage, is a 100m dog walk alongside our woodland, the perfect area for a short stroll for the many dogs that come to stay!

🥾🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿One of my favourite sights is a pair of walking boots left outside one of the cottages after a day exploring. It means guests are getting out, discovering our beautiful local area and making the most of their stay. 🥰

We’re lucky to be right in the Clwydian Range, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and we’ve teamed up with four of our brilliant local foodie pubs to create a walking map linking the cottages with the pubs.

So why not swap the car for your walking boots and enjoy a gentle 30-minute stroll to a great pub lunch or dinner? 🍻🥾

And if you’re after something more adventurous, you’re absolutely spoilt for choice:

⛰️ Moel Famau & Loggerheads Country Park
🌊 The North Wales Coast Path

❄️🎄 Is it too early to talk Christmas? We don’t think so…

Our returning guests certainly don’t! Some have been coming back for 9 years and book their Christmas stay well in advance. ❤️

Here are 7 things we love about winter and Christmas breaks at 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

1. ❄️ Snow days — when we’re lucky!
2. 🌊 Bracing beach walks with hardly a soul around 🤫
3. 🥾 Wrapping up warm and heading into the hills for crisp walks and spectacular views
4. 🔥 Fire pits, cosy evenings in the garden and star-filled skies
5. 🎁 Christmas shopping and a wander around Chester Christmas Market
6. 🍻 Cosy country pubs, with log fires and proper hearty winter meals
7. 🦭 Watching the seals in Llandudno — I can even tell you where to go 🤫

⚡️🚗 It great to see more guests using our EV charger this year, there’s been a noticeable increase, I think it’s catching on!

As an EV car driver, where to charge is something we always check out before we travel and it’s great to see the EV network getting bigger.

We’re supporting the Clwydian Creatives art trail in our local village Cilcain.

You may recognise our beautiful Old Mill in the photo top right, which was produced by local artist Travelling watercolour by Kerry

The event takes place over two weekends, Sept 4th 5th 6th and 11th 12th 13th at Cilcain village hall, and is a wonderful showcase of local artists and their work.
