Monmouth is a fantastic market town and a hive of activity. Well known for its many festivals, fairs, farmers markets and theatres, we love having this fabulous town so close by and encourage you to visit, if you can tear yourself away from the views from your barn!
Coming up over the next few months here are a few of the events taking place:
May:
Wye Valley River Festival (2 May) – A colourful parade with music and performances through the streets
Border Counties Steam & Country Show (2-3 May) – An array of vintage vehicles from steam engines to classic cars
Monmouth May Fair (8-10 May) – Traditional funfair in Vauxhall Fields
Monmouth Gardens Open Day (17 May) – Explore five very different gardens
Monnow Bridge Market (23 May) – Local produce from Monmouthshire makers
Monmouth Regatta Monmouth Rowing Club (23–24 May) – Rowing event on the River Wye with a lively local feel
June:
Monmouth Bee Festival Bees for Development (13 June) – a vibrant celebration of bees and other pollinators
Monmouth Carnival (28 June) – Parade, stalls and community celebrations
July:
Monnow Bridge Market (4 July) – Local produce from Monmouthshire makers
Monmouth Medieval Festival (4–5 July) – Knights, markets, and historical reenactments
Wye Valley Chamber Music Festival (20–26 July) – Intimate concerts in beautiful venues
Monstock (25 July) – Free pop-up music festival around Monmouth town
August:
Monmouthshire Show (16 August) – Classic country show with animals, food, and rural displays
Monnow Bridge Night Market (29 August) – Local produce from Monmouthshire makers
Also we have two brilliant theatres with a regular programme of events so check them out too: The Savoy Theatre, Monmouth and The Blake Theatre, Monmouth. Plus there is the weekly Monmouth Town Market at Shire Hall & Cattle Market every Friday and Saturday, perfect for picking up local supplies to take back to your barn 👍
It's about a 30 minute walk from our barns (downhill, be prepared for the walk uphill back!) or a 10 minute drive. We hope you enjoy your visit!
