Next week is Wader Week! 10-16 August.

We're celebrating all things wading birds at Montrose Basin next week for the last week of the summer holidays. We'll have a free Wader ID trail on in the visitor centre (usual admission charges apply).

Find all the wading birds to win a prize! And see if you can spot any of the thousands of waders out on the Basin too. 🔭

Fancy some festival speedy boarding?! 🎟️✨

If you’d like to pick up your actual festival access wristbands ahead of time, you can do that at our Brechin High Street Festival Shop (beside Keptie Bakery) on the dates and times shown in the image below!

That means less faffing, less queueing, and speedier entry when festival weekend arrives 🙌

You can also buy remaining available upgrades or add ons at the same time!

FAQs

Do I have to pick them up in advance?
No absolutely not- you can scan in on the day! This just gets you in a bit faster and for some folks we know they appreciate the peace of mind of having this physical passes in hand in advance!

What do I need?
Your QR codes OR — if you don’t have them or can’t find them — the name and email address used for your booking(s).

Do I need ID?
No if you have your QR codes.
Yes if you are collecting using name and email instead.

Which wristbands can I pick up?
You can collect wristbands for:
Day and weekend tickets (Saturday or Sunday)
VIP tickets
Youth tickets
Family Zone
Accessible Viewing Platform
VAT refund ticket add-ons for extra days or upgrades
Parking

Which ones do I still need to get on the day?
These will still need to be collected at the festival:
Friday night
Food and Beverage vouchers (pick these up at the merch tent once you’re in the festival)
VAT refund add-on vouchers for food or drink (same as food and beverage vouchers)
Camping (we need to check you in at camping reception)
Campervans
Glamping
Vendor passes
Volunteer passes
Artist passes
Crew and staff passes

What if I lose my wristbands?
We strongly advise not doing that ☠️🫣🫠
Once wristbands are issued, they are final and cannot be replaced if lost- sorry!

How do I know which is which?
Your wristbands will be given to you in festival envelopes that clearly show what’s what.

🌊 Wednesday Wander: Auchmithie Beach.

Tucked below the village of Auchmithie, near Arbroath, this beautiful pebble beach is surrounded by striking red sandstone cliffs, rock arches and caves, with the old harbour sitting at the south end of the bay.

Slow down, breathe in the sea air and take in a very special stretch of Angus coastline. You can also reach Auchmithie Beach via the Arbroath Coastal Path, making it a great stop for walkers looking to explore more of the coast.

To mark the waders returning to Montrose Basin as we come into late summer, we're running Wader Week from 10-16 August.

Come along to...
• Help us count waders
• Do a Wader ID Treasure Hunt in the visitor centre
• Ask our ranger your burning wader questions at a couple hides around the Basin
• Join us as we wade out onto the Montrose Basin ourselves for Journey to the Centre of the Mud!
