Beautiful morning light early today with wild flowers, trees and a few animals. I was too slow to get pictures of the hare running ahead of me, 2 buzzards in the field beside the road and a hairy caterpillar scurrying for roadside safety but they were there too. All within walking/running distance of Sheldon House B&B. Now taking bookings for late summer and early autumn - have you booked your stay yet?

Celebrating 8 years at Sheldon House and Barn, Monyash. 26/4/18 was a fairly damp day to be moving house, eight years later the weather is fantastic and the garden is 'waking up' nicely.

Believe it or not, the top question asked on the Birdsong Walk is how to tell the difference between the various 'black crows' - Jackdaw, Rook, Raven and Carrion Crow ('Crow' for short, in the photo, taken on the route of our walk). Last week we were lucky enough to see and get many hearings of all four during the walk. You'll have to join a walk to find out the many tips, but my top one is: If it sounds anything like a Dalek - that's the Crow! Next walk is tomorrow!
