Getting ready for the Felted Fleece Rug workshop on Saturday. That's 30g of wool on the scales. Each person will need a minimum of 80g for their backing. I'm preparing it all prior to the day to save time during the workshop. Thank you Classic Carder for the beautiful drum carder it is saving me a LOT of time!

Exciting new workshops coming to Skatebeck as part of the Beacon for the Arts Summer Series

🐑WELLBEING WORKSHOP: 🐑
MAKE YOUR OWN FELTED FLEECE RUG

Spend three relaxed hours at Skatebeck learning the heritage craft of wet felting to create your own felted fleece mat (a mini sheepskin-style rug) using wool from sheep grazing here on the farm. These smaller pieces are ideal for chairs, benches, meditation spaces, or simply as a cosy natural accent in your home.

"SHEAR DELIGHT" Alpacas and sheep are sheared once a year for welfare reasons. The fleeces are fantastic for many purposes, we will be hosting some workshops later in the year to put it to good use and make fabulous products. Let us know what you'd like to see it used for.
