Late 2025, we replaced the bed linen with the make of professional 100% cotton bedding we always use. Richard Howarth is Manchester based and serves the accommodation sector with very high quality fabric. This year we added matching bed runners to the order, and are very pleased with how they look.

Thanks to Elite Scaffolding for providing the safe external structure used during external work, including: cavity wall insulation removal and refilling, waste water pipes from new bathroom, replacement guttering side and rear, plus repainting their existing wooden fascia, and the loft dormer remodel of chattering slates and cladding in Hardie cement fibreboard, repair and capping of soffits and fascia. Thanks too to Dave Waring for final slate roof repairs.

Our small single bathroom is now a fabulous and spacious walk in shower room.
Rebuilt from brick, the bathroom is both warm, and super cool.

Cooney Insulations ltd installed cavity wall bead insulation into the cavity they extracted from previously. The quote was competitive and it is a top quality product suitable for the area.

The van stores polystyrene beads and glue which is pressurised during application. The motor also sends compressed air to the gun which, as it flows through the application gun draws the polystyrene beads which mix with the released glue, mixing and coating each bead so they enter the cavity and bond. This stabilises and the product helps retains heat in the cavity whilst preventing any water or damp buildup (non was evident previously).

Different sized applicator jets are used depending on environmental factors which affect the material and air flow.

The fill begins on the ground floor at about first floor height, and the blown mixture settles in triangular shapes. Care is taken around windows and doors to ensure a thorough fill. As the cavity reaches its capacity, there’s an audible change in pitch. This alerts the operator to stop, otherwise the mixture would overflow.
The result is a very clean install, improved thermal efficiency and a reliable product and install.
