A lot can change in a week on a refurbishment project.
At Park Residences, weโre now at that stage where the building is starting to look very different depending on which room you walk into.
In some apartments, kitchens and appliances are arriving and the spaces are beginning to feel much more complete.
Bathrooms are moving on too, with large-format wall finishes, showers and fittings now being installed.
Elsewhere, plastering and decoration are progressing, while outside the render work continues and the building fabric is steadily being brought back up to standard.
And then thereโs the lift.
After months of preparation, opening up, structural work and a fair amount of head-scratching around a 100-year-old shaft, the new lift equipment is now going in.
Itโs one of those stages of a development where you can walk ten metres and go from exposed brickwork and heavy construction to a room that is starting to look almost finished.
That contrast is a good reminder that refurbishment is rarely a neat, linear process.
There are always multiple workstreams moving at different speeds, all needing to meet at the right point.
The good news is that more and more of those pieces are now starting to come together.
And judging by the number of boxes, tools and appliances appearing on site, we may soon need a second development just to store the first one. ๐
