Absolutely devastated to hear of the passing of Dolly Parton today. 💔

I know I never knew her, but somehow this genuinely feels like hearing that your favourite aunt has passed away.

I grew up with Dolly. Her voice, her humour, her warmth and those songs have been part of the soundtrack to my whole life. I have so many memories of singing along to her music as a bairn, and all these years later I’m still singing those same songs, now in the bar at Clennell Hall.

Some of the memories I’ll hold deepest in my heart are of lying in bed with my mam, watching Dolly’s concerts and films together. Those little moments that probably seemed ordinary at the time now feel absolutely priceless.

And of course, I can’t mention Dolly without mentioning the fact my dad fancied the absolute arse off her 😂 I think he had excellent taste, to be fair.

There aren’t many people whose music can follow you through your entire life like that. From childhood memories and family moments, right through to standing with a microphone in my hand today. Dolly was just always there.

What an incredible woman. What an incredible life. And what a legacy she leaves behind.

This one has really got me. 🥺💔

Rest easy, Dolly. There will never be another one quite like you. 🌻🤍

Appreciation post! We are so lucky to have some awe inspiring regular guests and friends who are so talented here at the hall. You just never know how any night will go and last night was no exception, the wonderful Jason and Maria vare got up to sing a few songs in Rocky’s bar and I think we can all agree they are something really special! Thanks guys 👏 YOU are the very reason we strive so hard to keep this place going, worth a full watch, goosebumps!!!!! …. Such genuine lovely people too 😁 xx. Jason Vare
