As part of my role as Wellness Coordinator at Brinkburn, one of my favourite things is welcoming people here for the first time.
Showing guests around never really feels like work. Each visit is different, but the reaction is often the same. A pause, a breath, a moment of realisation of just how special this place is.
We always take our time.
Of course, we explore the indoor spaces. But it’s often outside where something begins to shift. Walking down to the river, through the woodland, past the priory, Ideas start to form naturally.
A sound bath beneath the trees.
Journalling in the open meadow.
Meditation by the water.
Sometimes it’s even the contrast that sparks something new, a pop-up sauna followed by a cold river dip.
There’s no set format. That’s the beauty of it.
With so many different spaces, each retreat begins to shape itself in its own way. You can see it happening in real time, the moment when ideas move from thoughts into something tangible.
It’s not rushed. It’s felt.
Time to stop.
Time to breathe.
Time to connect.
Unhurried means unmatched.
If you’re considering hosting a retreat at Brinkburn, I’d love to show you around and explore what it could become.
