Coastal footpaths to local beaches are just steps away and a bus service along the esplanade links Woolacombe and Mortehoe village; meaning everyone can enjoy the beach, shops and restaurants too. ty of wonderful walks however, if you prefer a gentle stroll around the village the Mortehoe Museum is a good place to start. The historic Church, tearooms, gift shop, Post Office and general store add two public community spirit of Mortehoe: one that you become part of as soon as you arrive. Just a month to go until the Mortehoe Scarecrow Festival returns ... this year's themes is all things Olympic ... Summer, Winter and Para Olympic sports will be represented in Scarecrow form!
We are excited to see the fabulous creations from our local residents, businesses and organisations ... the standard is always so high. We are very grateful for their efforts, and to all the volunteers who help with the event ... it wouldn't happen without them!
We do hope you are able to join us on Sunday 4th or Monday 5th August for this fun event suitable for all the family!

UK Government introduced new fire safety guidelines for ‘Small Holiday Lets’, and whilst we were already doing a lot we took on board the guidance and added a couple of extra things to make the cottages as safe as possible for guests.
Front doors now have thumb locks which means if a fire happens there is no key searching to unlock your exit.
Emergency lighting is fitted so if electric supply is damaged emergency lighting becomes available to guide you safely out of the cottages.

Our museum shop is full of lovely gifts, books, local information and lots more. You can find us at the end of the main carpark in Mortehoe Village, the museum is free to enter. We are open today 11:00-15:00
