A wee experiment this frosty morning! I've started using a bird song/call identification App and used it this morning before and after putting food on the Faebait Lodge bird table.

I have also seen an extremely rare visitor to the bird table, who has developed a liking for mealworm- that is a Giant Ginger Tit (Freddie the Cat for those who haven't guessed)!

Having won the 'Best Distillery in Scotland' at the World Travel Awards in 2023, we've only gone and won the 'Best Distillery Tour in the World' at this year's event!
This is just a mile and a half from Faebait Lodge so why not pay it a visit or ask your host about tours.

Orion was so clear tonight. The full moon lighting up the sky too. I love watching the sky all day and night. The clouds can be beautiful but when it’s a clear night it’s just stunning. Here’s hoping for a few more auroras before the nights get too light. 🙏

You have all probably heard of the Culloden Battlefield just outside Inverness, but did you know that a stones throw from there are ancient cairns and standing stones, a fabulous viaduct and a beautiful river with waterfalls? Sometimes it’s best to stray off of the most well known track and you can discover some incredible places in the Highlands 😁

Lovely walk from nearby Strathpeffer to the Seer’s Stone which predicts “a child will find the ‘Seeing Stone’ in the belly of a fish in the waters of Loch Ussie”. Glorious views out over the loch and the rock maze made from stones donated from quarries all over Scotland giving a fabulous insight into its geology.
