Due to the current weather conditions we have determined that we have no option but to suspended food service from 15:10 through to 16:50 daily until further notice. Given the current forecast this is likely to extend through to Saturday of this week.
As you will appreciate the conditions in our busy kitchen are beyond the norm with temperatures in excess of 47°C during Tuesday. Our work area at the rear of the bar and our wash up areas hit 39°C. Carrying out manual tasks in these conditions is beyond difficult and potentially dangerous therefore we may adjust them over time.
We will also need to consider reduced service at other times throughout this period. This may include the omission of certain dishes from our main menu and the volume of orders we are able to process at any given time in an attempt to reduce the amount of heat created and to level the load on staff.
We are busy working a couple of additional “cold dishes” e.g. salads, sandwiches etc., these will be published on our menu boards.
Please remember that our bar and food service staff are also working under increased pressures during these unusually difficult conditions and we would appreciate your patience and assistance throughout. Small gestures such as returning used glassware and crisp packets to the bar, and being tolerant and patient with any service delays, would be appreciated and very helpful.
If we all work together we will get through these extremely challenging times in a more conducive and positive manner.
As intimated above we cannot determine exactly how long these measures will be in place but we are certain you will understand the effect on our super hard working staff.
Normal service will be resumed as soon as conditions improve. These measures will be reviewed and adjusted as we see fit.
Thank you for your kind consideration and patience.
Michael and Alison.
