Cheshire Street in Audlem is set for carriageway resurfacing works, running from the Stafford Street junction to Heathfield Road - this is the road from Audlem to Stapeley.

A road closure will be in place daily between 7:30am and 4:00pm, starting on the 24 October 2026 for around 8 days.

Did you know that a railway once linked Nantwich with Market Drayton, travelling through the beautiful countryside around Audlem?

Known affectionately as the “Gingerbread Line”—a nickname inspired by Market Drayton’s famous gingerbread—the railway opened in 1863. It later formed part of the Great Western Railway route between Crewe and Wellington, carrying local passengers as well as important freight. Passenger services ended on 9 September 1963, freight continued until 1967, and the track was lifted by 1970.

You will find our luxury glamping wagons set alongside the old railway cutting – all that remains of the old Gingerbread Line – and each one is beautifully appointed with afully fitted bathroom, kitchenette, stove and comfy bed.
