As you may have heard, Lincoln City FC are going up! 🙌👏⚽
9 May, 2.30-4pm, an open top bus parade will tour Lincoln to celebrate their league win and promotion. And we will be right there to celebrate with you. Our officers will be out in force and don’t be alarmed if you see armed officers and drones. This is all part of the plan to keep the city safe.
Roads in and car parks will be busy and if you are not joining the celebration, you might prefer to avoid Lincoln for the afternoon. There will be some travel disruption as some roads will be closed before and during the event.
There is a no-fly zone for drones over the event (link in comments for further details). It is a criminal offence to fly a drone over the parade or the crowds watching. We will be deploying drones to monitor the parade for safety reasons.
If you see anything suspicious or that you’re not happy about, come and speak to a friendly steward or police officer.
We are working together with the club, City of Lincoln Council, and Counter Terrorism Policing to make sure that this is a fun and safe event for everyone and we are proud to be a part of this.
If you’re heading out to mark the occasion, we will see you there! Enjoy it safely and make sure you’ve got a plan to get home.
Let’s keep it a day to remember for all the right reasons. 💙
