Choppy choppy time! We’ve started pruning, our classic January task. We’re 1000 down, 5000 more to go. The young ones are simple enough to snip but the older ones take a bit of thinking. Going to have to hold off on it tomorrow though as looks like a mega tump of snow is coming our way tonight. Swipe for a peep, 30-40cm might be coming our way! Cheers MetRyan for the maps and updates, we do recommend you check out his meteorological insights on X 🌨️🏂

Some exciting news! We found out our Col Rondo and Pet Nat are featured in the brilliant 2025 UK Sparkling Wine Guide! Jamie highlights his top 15 UK producers of sparklers in what is definitely an exciting time for UK wine.

Never in our wildest non-wine background dreams would we have imagined that our natural wines grown on a hillside in Wales would have made the cut. Growing grapes for wine is a slow multi-year, multi-generation even, process. Where we are (around 230m high in Wales) and how we grow them (regeneratively), and how they are made (naturally, with spontaneous indigenous yeast fermentation, no filtering, fining or added sulphites) makes it all the more challenging.

Cheers Jamie for believing in our wild idea and we suggest you get his book and a few bottles as a cracking Christmas gift for the wine lovers in your life!

Ps. Last orders for Christmas wine delivery is Tuesday 16th December 🎄✨

Huge thanks to for popping our Col Rondo into her picks of current releases of Welsh wines ! Unleashed from undulating hills and soaring landscapes up and down the country and into the wild. So pleased our wine is one of them among friends and fellow growers doing this crazy thing in a land full of magic, nature, heritage and promise. It’s also a very fun time to be part of our own unique tiny industry, quietly turning heads with experimental and impressive wines. Cheers to that and all the Welsh vineyards featured - swipe for a few more snaps of what I’m talking about 🍇⛰️

2025 vintage is done! Harvest is over and grapes are safely in the winery. What a wonderful wild and intense ride it’s been. Our older vines absolutely loved the heat but our babies started to show stress as the sun shone on. Stormy September swept through, backed up by wasps and a light October frost, wracking our nerves and picking days.

This year has been our earliest harvest ever, 2-3 weeks ahead of usual and our first with an amazing group of volunteers. We also harvested a small crop off our young Bacchus and Muscaris grapes for the first time, which we’re very excited about!

Now it’s onto planning fun stuff for next year whilst the vines wind down for their winter slumber. We’ll have brand new wines, a new website and a secret something else we’ll update you on... It won’t be long before pruning and mulching begins again too.

Which indoor or outdoor autumn projects will you be ticking off your list? We’d love to know as it might remind us of what we’ve probably forgotten!

Excited for our Vineyard Open Weekend next weekend! Enjoy two days of wines in the vines, washed down with legendary burgers on Saturday 12th July and New Radnor’s finest local wood fired on Sunday 13th July. We’re open both days from 12-6pm and you can find us via what3words: nicely.cloth.racked - see you there!

In other news, it’s our anniversary! Who’d of thought that 8 years later, on yet another gorgeous July day in the borders, that we’d be mucking about with a massive sign in between vine tending, event planning, school settling in sessions and baby naps. Reaaaaaally hoping our kids will give us a helping hand in another 8 years time! 🤞🎉
